Mohsen always tend to connect concepts with real world examples which make classes more interactive. On a lighter note, getting a good grade is always a challenging mind game with him :D Looking forward for more courses with him.ALY6070 2023-07-08 19:58:05 +0000 UTC
Professor Soltanifar is great. Statistics can be hard inherently, but if you read corresponding chapters in the textbook before lectures, you can better understand the material. His lecture is organized and detailed. He is also very willing to answer questions after class. His grading can be tough but you will learn a lot.ALY6010 2024-10-11 17:07:05 +0000 UTC
For example, if you make a minor mistake (i.e. a format mistake) he would deduct 10 points, while the other professor just deduct 2 points. His lectures are ok though, he tended to write everything on blackboard, without using ppt. However, in general, if you want a high grade I would remind you not to register for his section.ALY6010 2024-02-20 22:49:01 +0000 UTC
He is really tough grader, giving students much lower grades than other sections. Once he made a canvas announcement 1 day before the deadline, (by that time I had already submitted my assignment), and then deducted my points, accusing me for not following his announcement. I compared the grading with my friend in another section.(see next post)ALY6010 2024-02-20 22:48:07 +0000 UTC
Good class room environment and always tend to link teaching concepts with real world scenarios making class more interactive and understanding.ALY6010 2023-04-08 11:32:14 +0000 UTC
