Kim is far and away the worst professorI have ever had for any class. Sorry if this is harsh but I have yet to meet a less competent instructor. He might know the material but is absolutely abysmal at conveying it to anyone else. He is funny and nice. Accessible outside of the class, will try to help you. Unfortunately, due to lack of experience in teaching it'll be very hard to follow his lectures and learn from them. He rarely uses examples and expects you to know a lot before. If you know calculus you can take him, if not - better choose someone who is good at teaching.MATH1231 2019-05-03 19:04:58 +0000 UTC
His lectures are boring and hard to follow. I had ended up having to watch the lectures in the text book to make up for his poor teaching. He also did not teach the key concepts well. Don't take a class with Professor Kim. As a person, he is kind. However, as a professor, he is very, very poor. He has the absolute hardest time explaining concepts. When you have points marked off on quizzes (which he barely prepares you for), almost always there is no explanation for why points were taken off. I'm sorry to be so harsh but Mr. Kim should not be teaching math, he constantly makes mistakes, his lectures are extremely boring and he makes no sense when giving explanations.
