Idk where to start, like this is the easiest class I have ever taken but I did not learn anything. The professor is very kind but likes to prank the class a lot to where you don't know if they are being for real about what they are saying. Vaid is THE goat. You don't rly do math in this class, you learn how to use excel (which is much more useful imo). He's barely accessible by email and will do schizophrenic bits during class instead of teach sometimes but I'm telling you, if you can take Vaid, do it. This class is completely taught on Excel. You get to learn about alot of functions on Excel, but nothing about definitions or math compared to a regular statistics course. Wouldn't recommend. Not accessible outside of class, no office hrs + never answers any emails. Not passionate about statistics. Not a difficult class, but pls take someone else. This guy does not want to be teaching. But, he's funny and weird which is always entertaining. If you actually want to learn stats, don't take him because he never really explains any concepts. He's chill. Really chill. He knows excel, so I learned a lot in the start at least. The tests are open book - i found them very easy. No attendance required. Very kind and caring professor. Three total exams worth 15% each (non-cumulative). Exams were open note and very manageable. All exam questions are related from the Cengage textbook. Everything is taught via excel. Don't worry if you are new to using it. Prof. Vaid is alright. He does the bare minimum regarding teaching, he does not want to be there. However, all tests and quizzes are open-book/internet. Class is taught through excel practice. Quizzes are on Cengage, but you will need to pay $150 for the online hw and quizzes, but we never use textbook. Quizzes are easy, if you get the content. Professor Vaid was very fair and chill. He taught statistics using Excel and allowed notes to be accessed during tests. He did not want you to pointlessly memorize things but actually know how to do the problems. We used Cengage for homework, quizzes, and tests. All of the classes are lectures but he does not explain anything. Everything is very straightforward. This is a class that can be done alone. Quizzes and tests literally mimick the practice questions on the textbook. 3 Exams, and if you take his final, he drops the lowest one out of 4. A quiz every week, but very doable.
