Her lectures are not helpful because she has a thick accent and moves very fast. She tells us what to study for tests and quizzes, but I still did not do well on them. She lets you do test corrections to boost your grade. Professor Ptitsyna is a very nice and caring person. However, her teaching style for Diff. Eq. was overall too difficult, very theoretically heavy and not enough application of formulas. Professor Ptitsyna is really sweet, but not the best teacher. She gives way too many notes during lecture, to the point where it just is the textbook regurgitated. Don't get me wrong, Natalia is a very sweet professor. However, her class sucks and she's not very good at teaching. She makes a lot of mistakes and skips a lot of steps and information. Her lecture style is very difficult to learn from; she goes at an extremely fast pace, and spends the entire class time going over theoretical things, only ever briefly touching on the actual formulas and their applications that will be seen on the quizzes and exams. I took AP Calculus in High school so I came into this class with background knowledge, and I also know how easy Calc 1 can be. Professor Ptitsyna is a lovely lady; however, she is a horrible lecturer. I have not understood anything in any of the 100-minute lectures I have attended and I have learned all the material from online resources. She wasn't that great with technology since it was hard to see what she wrote on the board through zoom and her lecture notes are way long and dull. Also it's hard to hear well especially with her accent which I don't blame. Professor P is a very nice and caring lady. She seems so genuine and really does seem so sweet. Unfortunately, she can not teach. She is extremely misleading on the test subjects and does not provide adequate practice and leaves the test very unclear. Its really confusing why someone would not explain how to properly study.
