I appreciated that she was happy to be teaching the class and made it apparent. Sadly, many of her teaching methods proved ineffective as homework would look nothing like quizzes which would look nothing like our midterms. I took her for stats; however, that was not listed as an option. This was the worst-structured course I have taken at Northeastern. The lectures had nothing to do with the HW, which was considerably easier than the tests. Tests were insanely long for the time given. Not the best professor I've had so far. Her lectures are BAD; she just copies and pastes her notes onto the board with no explanation. She uploads the notes, but doesn't label them. Professor Ptitsyna is really sweet, but not the best teacher. She gives way too many notes during lecture, to the point where it just is the textbook regurgitated. Professor Ptitsyna is a very nice and caring person. However, her teaching style for Diff. Eq. was overall too difficult, very theoretically heavy and not enough application of formulas. Her lectures are not helpful because she has a thick accent and moves very fast. She tells us what to study for tests and quizzes, but I still did not do well on them. She lets you do test corrections to boost your grade. Her lecture style is very difficult to learn from; she goes at an extremely fast pace, and spends the entire class time going over theoretical things, only ever briefly touching on the actual formulas and their applications that will be seen on the quizzes and exams. She wasn't that great with technology since it was hard to see what she wrote on the board through zoom and her lecture notes are way long and dull. Also it's hard to hear well especially with her accent which I don't blame. Don't get me wrong, Natalia is a very sweet professor. However, her class sucks and she's not very good at teaching. She makes a lot of mistakes and skips a lot of steps and information.
