Nicholas is always available if you need help outside of class. The course becomes more challenging toward the end when the Story Map is due, but Nicholas prepares you well weeks in advance and is an excellent guide to help you complete it successfully and do well.LARC2330 2025-12-13 17:16:31 +0000 UTC
His courses = youtube + online courseware + Chatgpt. To secure an A grade, complete all assignments and review mid-term and final exam materials. TA assistance may be limited, but the marking and workload are manageable compared to similar courses.INFO6205 2023-05-02 08:54:07 +0000 UTC
Amazing professor who believes in self learning.CS4800 2019-03-09 03:15:56 +0000 UTC
Straight forward, as long as you do the work you'll be fine, if you don't like your grade just talk to him and he'll work something outCS4300 2017-04-10 18:04:21 +0000 UTC
The class is very boring since basically all the materials are available online, and the knowledge needed for assignments are way to easy than what he is talking in the class. In the offline section he would just keep talking and talking randomly for 2 hours, without any real interactions with the students.DS5020 2017-01-06 23:14:42 +0000 UTC
This professor was a real teacher, not just a research PhD that has to teach classes. His enthusiasm for the material and interest in student learning showed threw all the time.CS5310 2014-04-29 10:59:07 +0000 UTC
I took is Native American Resistance Clas(doesnt pop up for some reason)Really nice guy. Seems a little nonchalant sometimes but thats not a bad trait for a professor. Is really helpful and a really lenient grader. Just about anything can be a perfect score for him. Graded on a weekly podcast reflection and film-one pager among other assignments.LARC2330 2024-12-05 00:53:35 +0000 UTC
I did not find much use in going to his class. He just plays videos on youtube in class which makes us really boring.INFO6205 2021-11-10 15:23:39 +0000 UTC
He basically read the slides from other school's course. Boring teacher, barely teach anything new. You have to read all the material by yourself. Test is not even challenging; basically homework with different numbers. Feel like I didn't learn much in his class, but more by myself.CS4800 2016-02-12 14:52:19 +0000 UTC
Did not really care for this class. It is interesting stuff if you are passionate about it but he isn't very clear during lectures and he isn't very organized with the material. You have no idea what grade you are going to get until grades come out. participation and attendance definitely matter. we did take a few field trips which were okay.LARC2330 2023-11-13 14:58:30 +0000 UTC
Easy grading and huge curves on tests.CS4800 2015-11-04 09:56:55 +0000 UTC
Nice guy but not very clear. The lectures are good if you're invested in the topic, but don't take his class if it's for a random elective. His intentions are good, but timelines for assignments shifted a lot and in general the guidelines/projects were so open ended people would get lost. Definitely go to class and participate during discussions.LARC2330 2018-12-31 23:40:19 +0000 UTC
Easy grader. Won't learn much in class, better off learning on your own or going to his office hours.CS4800 2015-06-10 15:44:49 +0000 UTC
Will make the class interesting even if you have no interest in the subject matter. Very engaging and open to helping students outside of the classroomCS4800 2014-03-19 10:37:38 +0000 UTC
