LOTS of reading between classes (twice a week class) a challenge as this was new for me but manageable. One of the best graders I've had for english, if you follow the rubric you can easily get an A. Decent feedback and one group project as well. Very nice and emails in a timely manor, be ready for discussions every class she does call on people.ENGL3160 2025-03-27 15:16:39 +0000 UTC
A wonderful professor who is knowledgable and passionate about what she teaches, but the amount of time put into this course was more than expected. This is a reading-heavy course (70-100 pg/night) and reading responses due before every class. Also, essays are graded harshly but utilize her office hours/writing center to get constructive feedback.ENGL2451 2024-05-08 02:16:19 +0000 UTC
Readings Required. There are Blackboard posts and you are expected to participate in class. She WILL call on you. Great teacher, explains complicated theories well. Discussion based, not really lectured at. She offers extra credit to replace absences- she takes attendance EVERY DAY. She genuinely cares and wants you to do well.ENGL1400 2016-11-09 21:44:18 +0000 UTC
great professor. i took her survey of american lit class with her. Her class is very straightforward, and unless you're lazy as hell you can get an A. She gives study guides for the midterm and final, offers an extra credit project, and two papers are only about 4-5 pages in length. The exams are also open book for the essay section.ENGL5863 2012-05-08 19:52:21 +0000 UTC
Takes attendance every day, 100word Blackboard post on reading due before class. 2papers, midterm, final, Extra credit opportunities. I didnt do much of the reading yet did well by paying attention in class/taking avid notes from lecture/powerpoints. Only qualm is she says "okay" or "right" after every sentence in her lecture - it gets distracting!ENG1502 2010-03-31 15:58:32 +0000 UTC
Fantastic...anyone that doesn't like her either didn't go to class or didn't do the work. She's very smart, made the material enjoyable and is a sharp dresser, if you're looking for an easy A or are a lazy student she'll see right through itA301 2009-12-01 15:56:26 +0000 UTC
Professor Aljoe is a very smart, capable person and really knows everything she talks about. The subject material was super interesting, and her grading of papers was a little on the harsh side but nothing too bad. Worth taking her classes in my opinion.ENGL3160 2021-04-26 19:01:32 +0000 UTC
This class required WAY more reading and writing than I was used to. However, she really wants students to pass, so she offers a lot of help outside the classroom. Discussions are really student controlled, which I appreciate because I would hate to be talked AT for an hour and five minutes.ENGL1400 2014-11-19 00:53:24 +0000 UTC
Professor Aljoe was a very good instructor. She offers extremely constructive feedback, she explains difficult/challenging concepts fully and effectively. Great class, very interesting, lots of homework, and difficult.ENGL1400 2011-12-20 00:05:34 +0000 UTC
She talks WAY too fast and says "mhm," "okay," or "right" after almost everything she says. She is a good professor though, she really cares about what she is teaching, and tries to give us that same passion. She is a tough grader, but willing to help you improve and learn to do better for the future. She gives good helpful feedback.ENGL1400 2011-12-07 23:14:29 +0000 UTC
