I took this class as a Multilingual speaker, thinking the teacher would provide some additional support or steps to help, however she threw a lot of homework and group projects at once. Avoid her. She's disrespectful to students and grades harshly for no reason. Her teaching skills don't reflect her education. She is unorganized and her attitude is rooted in insecurity. The 2 rating is only because the Canvas is pretty organized. Except for that, various unnecessary reading assignments, group project deadlines are extremely strict for feedback, however the professor's feedback is a "general feedback" for all students (as it is an interdisciplinary class, all majors are different so general feedback doesn't help).ENGW3315 2025-12-16 15:30:54 +0000 UTC
Assigns homework every single night, has ridiculous expectations for a writing class for STEM majors. I've had friends take this same class with other professors and said it was an easy A, and when I showed them my homework they said it was far more work than they ever had to do. This teacher thinks that all her students are english majors and gives immense workload and project deliverables with very tight deadlines. If you are taking this course as a requirement AVOID this professor. This is the first time I have found the NEED to tell students to stay away from this teacher. Incredibly demanding and tough grader. 3 discussions a week, 3 general projects and she expects you to revise your papers/projects until PERFECTION. Idk why the reviews are so harsh. It is a class where you definitely need to put in the work, but regardless, she is very clear in what she wants and how she wants the work to look and she gives students countless outlets to work with her/communicate. I'm not sure why Professor Keller's rating is so low. I found her to be a great professor. Very responsive to emails since it was an online async class. There are 3 main assignments for the course and she grades fairly. One thing I would say is that due dates sometimes come up a little quicker than expected. I don't usually leave reviews, but I really felt the need to for this professor. At all costs, AVOID HER. Not only does she grade late, but she is the toughest grader I've ever seen. She is a ok person but I don't think she understands that she is over killing it with the homework and workload. Peer reviews are the most useless thing in her class but it's nice to see other people's work. Don't take her online classes if you are on co-op because she gives a ton of homework.
