I don't ever declare that someone is "the worst" but truly one of the worst professors I have come across. How she is allowed to teach is truly a mystery to me. She is condescending and incapable of accepting any feedback. She is truly self-obsessed and only likes those who feed into her ego. It's quite a shame because the material in the course is super interesting, but the professor makes it less enjoyable. For instance, she doesn't take feedback kindly, acts condescending, and grades harshly. LOVED professor James, really don't understand why the reviews here are so bad. The class is big on the social impact aspect and originality of thought in the projects. There is quite a bit of group work but most people in the class really cared about similar aspects which made it easier to work together. Dr. J has a clear respect for her students and interest and knowledge in her field and willingness to share it with her students. Professor James is the best professor I've had at NEU. She walks the walk when it comes to social entrepreneurship and is highly knowledgable, respectable, and approachable. Dr James is an excellent professor and the group projects in her class changed how I will approach group work in the future. There are a lot of papers, so be ready to write, but the grading criteria are very clear and you will get plenty of reminders to start early. By far the worst professor I've ever had at Northeastern. She creates a class environment that is hostile for students and is very condescending. She is not lenient with grades and will grade your work harshly if it is not to her personal liking. She is rude and doesn't respect her students.
