Veliche is a sweet lady and all, but she teaches old-fashioned with a whiteboard and while half of the class is fighting demons trying to copy down notes, she mumbles to herself proofs that no one understands. this course is too proof-heavy which means self-studying and practicing is a must to get a good grade. This class made me lose love for mathMATH2321 2025-12-11 23:55:42 +0000 UTC
She was fire.MATH4575 2023-12-11 00:02:26 +0000 UTC
Fantastic professor, very available via email, very caring.MATH7234 2023-05-23 07:45:57 +0000 UTC
This class (regardless of professor) is really tough. However, Prof. Veliche does her best to teach you all the material clearly. Extremely welcoming & helpful in office hours. At the end of the semester she gives extra points for overall attendance and homework (asks you show her all you have done in the semester). Gives practice tests.MATH1251 2015-04-16 21:30:45 +0000 UTC
Veliche is a nice woman but an absolutely horrible teacher. She does not explain the material efficiently or effectively often leaving students unprepared for the final exam. Avoid taking her at all costs if you can.MATH1252 2014-04-29 12:40:13 +0000 UTC
She is friendly and nice but did not show command over the material during teaching.MATH2351 2013-12-16 18:00:25 +0000 UTC
She's good at math, but she's not very good to teach. Confuses the majority of the students.MATH1231 2013-11-13 12:39:42 +0000 UTC
I have never done so bad in a math class. This class was conducted poorly due to the professor's old fashion teaching and only writing on the whiteboard. The entire class time is spent frantically copying down notes on the board instead of understanding concepts. There are also daily homework to be done as a group.MATH2321 2025-01-06 20:07:36 +0000 UTC
Oana is a very nice and caring person and very available via email. Maybe she's just not my style, but her teaching style is just extremely old fashioned. We have exit tickets, notes are often not posted, and she seems to not be fully prepared to explain her thought process in lectures. Lots of arrows with vague labels. I just read the textbook.MATH4575 2023-11-15 05:16:45 +0000 UTC
She is a very nice lady, but also a very tough grader. Heavy homework and hard examsMATH7234 2016-12-12 13:58:14 +0000 UTC
She's a very nice woman who is always willing to help. That being said, she is not the best teacher. She sometimes lacks understanding of the material, and students often correct her in class. She does not explain material very clearly, and her thick accent sometimes makes things difficult to understand. However, she does want students to do well.MATH1251 2014-11-17 21:44:39 +0000 UTC
(MATH 2331) Overall good professor and clear lectures. There is optional homework but if you want an A you should definitely do it. I managed to get a B without really studying at all and just reviewing before exams, you just need to know how to apply formulas. Maybe there is a bit more proof stuff in this section compared to other professors.MATH2321 2024-12-20 01:20:46 +0000 UTC
Lectures were always recorded but attendance was encouraged because we had graded class problems that were done in small groups. She is a very caring and kind professor, responds to emails quickly, and offered generous extra credit. Sometimes its a little hard to follow her notes but she is always accessible for extra help.MATH4575 2020-12-24 17:49:51 +0000 UTC
not the best during lectures, but she gives us a lot of material to work with and if you do optional textbook homeworks as well as the practice quizzes you will be fine for the weekly quiz. preparing for the midterms is also easy as she gives several past midterms to practice with.MATH2321 2024-12-07 20:15:21 +0000 UTC
ok she's a nice person but she REALLY CANNOT EXPLAIN AT ALL!!! skips over a lot of explanations and jumps around, you will be completely confused about her lectures if you don't already know linear algebra well or take tutors outside of class. Again she's a really nice person but I'm just not sure she qualifies as a math professorMATH2321 2023-09-25 15:43:48 +0000 UTC
