Prof Hand is the GOAT for real. I took his Machine Learning class, easily the best professor I have had so far. He really wants his students to succeed. ML is pretty tough but his lectures are clear and interesting, and while some parts were challenging I felt supported. I really enjoyed taking this class with him, couldn't have been better!CS6140 2024-11-13 00:16:19 +0000 UTC
Hand is a great professor. The way he lectures is so elegant and engaging regardless of the topic. He also offers COPIOUS extra credit. Algo is a notioursly difficult cs class and I honestly wasn't too stressed out about it while taking it with him.CS3000 2023-04-29 21:14:22 +0000 UTC

Amazing professor. Fun lectures, he will teach the latest and greatest of Deep Learning. Assignments teach you a lot. He makes us read 2 research papers every week, overall amazing courseCS7150 2021-03-24 21:48:41 +0000 UTC
Prof. Hand is clearly extremely smart, but lectures were lackluster and boring. Material wasn't that interesting to begin with, but lectures were also huge and slide based with many in-class activities. Class isn't too bad if you do the homeworks, of which there are many. All the exams, like with most MATH classes, were predictable and curved.MATH3081 2018-12-31 00:48:44 +0000 UTC
Prof. Hand is an awesome professor. Gives amazing feedback, lectures are fun to attend.CS7150 2020-11-23 18:57:01 +0000 UTC
SO HARD, SO MUCH WORK, and he didn't teach very well. There were lots of in class activities and practice questions but he never wrote down the answers so it was very hard to keep up. The final is worth 40% of the grade and was the most difficult exam I've ever takenMATH3081 2018-12-21 05:09:57 +0000 UTC
