Awesome professor and person, I loved his class even as a non-math personMGSC2301 2026-03-30 13:26:26 +0000 UTC
Peter was a good professor and cares abt his students. Attendance wasn't taken everyday but it was a surprise so people should j go to class. Only 2 tests (midterm and final). At times he could get a bit confusing but the material he gives helps with the course. Overall very good!! Hes also rlly sweet.MGSC2301 2025-12-16 01:18:31 +0000 UTC
Professor Xu is the first instructor who genuinely made me understand and enjoy math. Attendance isn't mandatory, but I would recommend you show up to class; he regularly gives hints for exams and answers for projects. Fun lecturer if you pay attention. Light workload. Easily one of the best professors I've had.MGSC2301 2025-12-10 21:28:13 +0000 UTC
Peter Xu was nothing short of phenomenal. He makes an effort to understand everyone's background regarding statistics and constantly makes time to help you outside of class if you need assistance. I had zero stats history and yes at times not going to sugar coat it I was confused but because of the kind of professor he is I could figure it out.MGSC2301 2025-12-06 18:53:07 +0000 UTC
Really good at explaining concepts, likes it when you ask clarifying questions, reasonable grader, nice person, thick Chinese accent but didn't actually get in the way of any understanding for me at least.MGSC2301 2025-11-17 22:27:46 +0000 UTC
Good prof. Also, this prob is in Business school, not the Math dept.MGSC2301 2025-04-29 16:03:53 +0000 UTC
Peter is a caring professor with a lot of knowledge of stats. He can be frazzled when teaching and doesn't follow a specific slideshow or textbook. However, he is very available outside of class and always willing to help. I would recommend taking him for stats. There are two individual projects, weekly homeworks, a midterm, and a final.MGSC2301 2025-04-29 14:49:33 +0000 UTC
The first time I want to write a review for a professor, the best teacher in neu!MGSC2301 2025-01-10 21:57:29 +0000 UTC
Homework due every week except the week a project is due. Two projects. He has a thick chinese accent so it's hard to understand sometimes. Syllabus said attendance was worth 10%, it ended up being worth 20% and that brought me down a lot because I didn't even realize attendance was mandatory.MGSC2301 2024-12-18 04:58:22 +0000 UTC
There's 2 projects and homework due every week (but not th week there's a project). I would've had an A but I never showed up and didn't realize participation (attendance) mattered. Syllabus said it was worth 10% of our grade. He actually made it worth 20% and that brought me down a lot. If I attended class more I wouldve gotten an A.MGSC2301 2024-12-18 04:56:11 +0000 UTC
He lowkey doesn't speak very good english but he's honestly a fun lecturer if you're paying attention and the work is fairly straightforward.MGSC2301 2023-11-30 05:38:23 +0000 UTC
