Nice teacher, the test were a little bit ridiculous as the previous poster noted, I thought I knew everything and still did not score well. Very lenient grader on the papers though, does not have high expectations for students writing ability. She tries to cover too much, but that's just the limitation of the class. A bit all over the place, but does the best she can for a class that covers 2,000 years of history. Helpful if you need it, tries to mix it up with videos and outside sources, will listen to your feedback (rare in a professor). Amazing professor; get excited if you have her. She undertakes an ambitious course designed to make you rethink the world through the lens of decolonisation and its impact on globalisation and the global dichotomy. She was really nice, but attempted to cover absolutely way too much material every class. You could tell that she really wanted you to care as much as she did. Not a tough grader, but picky on papers. Her accent and absent-minded professor thing is charming and she's definitely kinda cute. This professor is excellent. She knew her stuff and made class fun and interesting. If you do the reading and listen to lecutre this is an easy A. If you don't read then you won't do well. VERY easy class. The course is supposed to cover everything in depth so you end up getting a very cursory coverage of everything you go over. The readings are more than you need for the class. Just do the work and show up most of the time and you'll be fine.HSTU110 2008-01-13 08:45:40 +0000 UTC
Boring class. Gets way too excited about the aboriginees, and doesn't even try to make the material interesting. Lectures feel like chinese water torture - slow, painful drowning while hanging upside down. I never even took any notes on them and still did well. Hypnotic voice for the males in the class. She's awful. Very unclear and no real structure to the class. Her grading system is flawed as well. The class average for the midterm was a 69, and there are some very bright students in the class.
