I think professor ubal does not care for students that he just think teaching is one of his task. He does not curve and more ridiculous he will let you see your grade until a certain percent of class finishes class curvey. Other professor either let you it voluntarily or give you extra credit. Prof. Rafael Tena is a funny guy. The text book is unnecessary (I forgot there was one). He quite clearly explains the code and thought process behind what he's doing. This makes it hard (if not impossible) to skip his class, so beware of that. This is the worst lecturer I ever seen. Always mistakes in his lecture: every assignment every supporting material, even in the midterm and final.You will receive his email every week for correcting his mistakes. He may be a good teacher but if you have the choice NEVER TAKE HIM!! He is one of the least fair teachers I have ever had. Don't expect anything like extra credit.
