Easily the most well-organized online resources of any Khoury class, and most caring prof. as well. This guy genuinely loves what he does, and it shows in his lectures, in&out of class interactions with students, and how accessible he is. It also seems he's been factoring in student feedback and adjusting the course. Thank you prof venkat🙏.CS4100 2026-02-26 04:14:08 +0000 UTC
Took it over the summer and really enjoyed it! Professor is very knowledgeable and fun to talk to. Assignments are straightforward, Final Group Project is a lot of work, no exams, TAs & OH are very helpful. He has well-written notes on all the topics, and even though attendance isn't mandated, please go to class! It's very enjoyable : )CS5100 2025-07-01 07:33:29 +0000 UTC
Prof. Raj is just an all-around nice guy, cares about his students, and is passionate about his work. Prior reviews show that his class used to be different, but as he mentioned in our final class, he heavily values student feedback, and it is evident that things are different now. Be sure to get started on the HWs early and attend his lectures.CS4100 2025-12-06 17:14:33 +0000 UTC
He is a great professor for FAI, would enjoy taking up his class once againCS5100 2025-04-29 00:17:47 +0000 UTC
Professor Venkat has, by far, the best online resources of any course I've taken. Also very interactive lectures where he really wants students to participate and ask questions. You can schedule 1-1 with him even outside of office hours. He offers 2 pathways for the final so you can choose what fits your learning style. Best professor at Khoury.CS4100 2025-12-05 11:37:33 +0000 UTC
Great Professor, very interesting lectures and course content. You could tell he cared about his students and wanted to provide the best learning environment! Would highly recommend.CS5100 2025-04-27 19:15:37 +0000 UTC
Raj was hands down one of my favorite professors I've had at Northeastern. He is very knowledgable and clearly passionate about his work. He takes the time to clearly explain and walk students through lectures, and wont hesitate to put the lecture on hold to clarify things.CS4100 2025-11-24 23:05:57 +0000 UTC
Unreasonable homework amount and timeline. Strange sense of "fair", doesn't allow extra credit because that's "unfair" to students with a job that do not have the time (funny, isn't the whole idea of extra credit just sacrificing extra time to boost your grade?). A TA even said he has no idea on a homework problem.CS5100 2025-04-06 06:06:31 +0000 UTC
I really really enjoyed the class and lecture. Prof. Venkat is so nice and really makes you think in lecture but you have to pay 100% attention to really learn. His homeworks aren't terrible but they're quite confusing, he also has a pretty tough grading policy so you will need to go to office hours a lot to make sure you're on the right track.CS4100 2025-11-05 00:55:07 +0000 UTC
Professor Rajagopal Venkatesaramani's lectures are highly effective in enhancing understanding. He also asks well-thought-out questions that deepen understanding and often provide a fresh perspective on the concepts. Reviewing the notes beforehand is beneficial, and both the professor and TA are approachable for any clarifications.CS5100 2025-04-03 19:57:40 +0000 UTC
Loved this guy, really cared about people learning very entertaining lectures. Harsh on deadlines but homeworks weren't too hard.CS4100 2025-09-12 22:44:49 +0000 UTC
Unclear grading standardsCS5100 2024-12-20 05:52:27 +0000 UTC
Took this class during the summer and it went really well. We only had 3 assignments and one group project which is reasonable for summer semester. Lectures are pretty engaging and he is quite available to help out in anyway. For homework's I would recommend starting earlier, just because they can take some time.CS4100 2025-06-28 02:07:25 +0000 UTC
Raj is hands down a top professor I've ever had. His lectures are engaging and he has an inspirational passion for teaching. He invents hours of the day to help you with any challenges you face. If you know the material already, you still have the rare opportunity to work with a truly dedicated educator. The negative reviews are frankly absurd.CS5100 2024-11-07 22:10:11 +0000 UTC
he is actually the GOAT and i can't understand why he was rated so low. he is one of the best profs i've had at khoury: easy to follow lectures (just show up), an ability to break down complex topics to make it seem so easy, and genuine care for students and passion for education. if you're planning to take CS4100 there's no better guy than raj!CS4100 2025-06-20 02:58:53 +0000 UTC
