Lectures were generally very clear and he encourages participation during class time which really helps solidify concepts. Is very concerned with understanding over problem solving ability. Quizzes were rarely calculation heavy and more conceptual. Passing the class with a decent grade isn't terribly hard, but doing well is.MATH2331 2019-04-10 23:28:54 +0000 UTC
Sam is a great teacher! He's super smart and enthusiastic about the course. Super concept heavy. Graded way more on concepts than computations.MATH2331 2019-01-23 17:19:27 +0000 UTC
I would say Sam is definitely a genius! Not only goot at Maths himself, but also great at teaching! His lecture is really useful and be sure to take notes and follow him, because the quiz would be hard if you don't pay attention in his class! A is feasible in his class. His class focus on the theory a lot, and these theory helps me to understand!MATH2331 2018-12-14 04:42:44 +0000 UTC
Sam is the best math professor I've had at this university. He took a very conceptual math class and made it easy to understand intuitively, not just computationally. His quizzes are challenging, but his grading is very fair. Lectures are always peppered with funny anecdotes to keep our attention.MATH2331 2018-12-03 23:36:51 +0000 UTC
His lecture is quite theoretical. Provides little example that is going to appear on quizzes. Go to class since many of the quiz problems are in lecture but not in the book. Not enjoyable if you don't like the theory part of math. He might have increased the level of difficulty of the test of linear algebra permanently.MATH2331 2018-11-30 14:12:12 +0000 UTC
He explains the contents very clearly. He converts the abstract concepts to be visualizable. Even though his quiz is very theoretical and requires good understanding of the theorem to get a good grade, an A is still very feasible if you attend his classes.MATH2331 2018-11-12 18:08:16 +0000 UTC
