I just graduated and am looking back at the worst professors I ever had, and no doubt this guy was it. I'll never forget when he wouldn't let us use the restroom and someone in the class had a disability. Absolutely the worst professor Ive had so far at Northeastern. Ill never forget the time they just graded my question wrong when it was correct and he wouldnt give me the point back because he wouldnt work the problem out himself to see the answer. As a person he is probably a good guy but he is a horrible professor. Very condescending and his course does not make sense. Impossible to find practice tests and exams, unpredictable and makes up his own way of teaching the material. You have to show up to classes to understand the way he does things. If you have a choice, do not take his class at an honors level. He makes the quizzes much more difficult by putting questions that related to topics we never learned in class. Also, his grading criteria for the honors section is much more harsh than his regular section, for example, an A in honors is anything above a 94.5. Sandy is not a great teacher. He doesn't respect the learning process. If you don't get it, he fails to explain the concept in simpler terms (or at all). His tests were graded in such a way that partial credit is nonexistent, and you could only miss about 3 problems (over quizzes and the final) to still secure an A. As much as I love Sandy as an individual, he expects his students to be able to understand complicated math theorems after doing one problem together in class. Be prepared to have to teach yourself the concepts through doing your homework. Hated him in calc 1 but loved him in calc 2 since finally understood how to excel in the class: DO ALL HW in time for every class and ASK QUESTIONS for EVERY problem you don't understand. Uses hw for his VERY HARD quizzes and bases midterm/final off these quizzes. He's glad to go over problems and is helpful if you take initiative to ask questions.CALC152 2007-05-30 16:33:47 +0000 UTC

Prof. Blank was a pretty good teacher. He knew what he was talking about. The online notes are really helpful, but overall he's kind of strict and condescending. He can be a jerk sometimes but when it comes down to it, he's a decent guy. Kinda funny, also will count good quizzes twice as much as quizzes you do poorly on. Not to bad. He is boring in class and moves pretty fast. He quizes are on exactly what you do in class so if you study you will be fine. The overall subject is very easy anyway and he is very fair with his grading. i once missed a quiz because my flight got delayed. i showed him my ticket as proof and he wouldnt excuse me saying it was my fault for not scheduling an earlier flight to be safe. but he excused my friend and she had the exact same situation and proof. his quizzes and tests are very fair if you listen and do the hw, but he's just a mean person.MATHU151 2006-02-21 23:19:56 +0000 UTC
