The least I've ever seen Piazza used in a CS class. C++ is essentially a less intense fundies 2 but in c++ not java. If you've taken OOD it will be easy. There's an autograder which is insanely useful, you know what you're getting on 90% of the assignments before you even submit. Attendance is a pain but not bad. I think the issue with this class is that it may be too easy for the first half and then explodes after the introduction of classes. Maybe the introduction of Programming in C++ 1 and 2 (splitting the class to two semesters) would be more beneficial for learning. Seth was a great professor. Used replit to go over code in lecture so it was very collaborative. Homework was given once a week and the majority of them were easy to do in about an hour. Class mainly consisted of reading the textbook, taking a quiz about that material, then going over the same exact stuff in class. Iit would be more helpful to go over the content in class before the quiz instead of having to essentially learn everything outside of class. Maybe a nice guy, but is clearly qualified and accomplished. Makes it more frustrating, however, since he clearly does not seem to give much of a care to making a functional course. Easy, but the most disorganized, boring, and dysfunctional course I've ever taken. Half the assignments had some sort of infuriating compatibility or testing issue. Course was basically not compatible on MacOS if you updated, so had to switch to windows. Trying to debug his ramshackled assignments could cause 100% CPU usage.
