I had to do a lot of self-learning for this course to complete the homework as well as the practicums; however, the professor gave a lot of extra credit opportunities.DS3000 2026-02-11 19:31:30 +0000 UTC
This course had serious communication issues. Key requirements were never provided in writing, and relying on informal Teams posts caused many students to be unfairly penalized. Clarification attempts led to inconsistent TA answers, and the professor ignored emails and shifted blame. Even after escalation, no formal clarification was posted.CS6620 2025-12-12 23:08:55 +0000 UTC
Worst instructor I have ever had. Unprepared, impatient, and unresponsive for questions. The online class structure was good enough, but it was built by other instructor in the prior semester. The fact NEU still keeps this instructor really made me think if I should have applied for other universities.CS5008 2022-01-20 00:22:19 +0000 UTC
She is a part-time lecturer not a professor. When she is teaching this course, she even dont know what the codes on textbook and online videos are. She made many mistakes on her lecture and assignments. By the way, she is not friendly.DA5020 2020-11-14 00:06:55 +0000 UTC
Weekly assignments with extra credit for most to bump grades. Professor was ok, videos weren't great, the video recording discussions were worse. Group practicums were fine, if you have good teammates.DS3000 2025-12-19 20:43:39 +0000 UTC
She shows up to teach once a week for like 40 minutes. The class material itself isn't too bad, but she makes it hard by not teaching anything, and by threatening students to not "plagarize". Ma'am, this is a computer science course if the stackoverflow answer tells me to do xyz I am going to do xyzCS6620 2022-03-09 23:59:24 +0000 UTC
This class has a moderate assignment workload week to week but there are enough extra credit opportunities to bump your grade a whole letter if you take advantage of them. Didn't love the professor, didn't love having to record videos of me speaking for a coding class, and the 3 group practicums genuinely took years off my life.DS3000 2025-12-17 05:43:02 +0000 UTC
The most boring course I have ever taken.CS6620 2022-01-30 09:44:51 +0000 UTC
This professor assigned 3 projects with random groups. Expectedly, there were plenty issues collaborating, which the professor did not help handle despite my attempts to explain varying effort levels, resulting in a terrible grade for the first project. Does not contribute value outside of pre-recorded lectures - do not take her class.DS3000 2025-12-11 05:22:59 +0000 UTC
heartless, cold, clearly does not care about her student's learning. Save your moneyDS3000 2025-12-11 02:17:17 +0000 UTC
Honestly, a great and easy course. I do feel that because it was online, the instruction was very self-paced, and I didn't learn as much as I would have if I'd taken it in person. Assignments are due weekly (not hard and EC available on all hw and projects). Some stuff does seem repetitive, however, but if you do the work you'll have an A.DS3000 2025-04-23 15:18:45 +0000 UTC
this online class has clearly not been updated in years, with many lecture code segments including outdated functions. grading is random, with TAs docking points for subjective reasons. assignments don't have clear instructions, and are "interpretative." i would still take this class bc its online which is nice but don't expect to learn a lot.DS3000 2025-04-10 16:57:13 +0000 UTC
It was honestly pretty okay -- if you really wanted to go in depth on the DS topics you'd have to go out and do it yourself.DS3000 2025-02-24 22:25:00 +0000 UTC
Her assignments are extremely unclear, and every time I try to get clarification from her or a TA, I get a convoluted answer that leads me to get the question wrong. The TAs are EXTREMELY harsh graders, and when I approached the professor about it, she did nothing. Other people and I have considered going to the dean because of her poor teaching.DS3000 2025-02-22 20:02:35 +0000 UTC
So rude. Doesn't respond to questions and has extremely boring lectures. When you email her expect to wait more than a week for a response.DS3000 2024-12-12 20:56:22 +0000 UTC
