Easily one of the worst professors I have ever taken. If you didn't know an answer he made you feel dumb. Majority of the class failed quizzes/exams and instead of curving or extra credit he decided to give us another exam at the end of the semester. I would avoid taking him if you can.CS2800 2024-03-22 17:12:26 +0000 UTC
Tripakis is a pretty easy grader. However, he is the only professor I have ever had that actively makes me feel stupid. His lectures are mostly just him doing problems in front of you interjected by daily mini-quizzes. These quizzes are consistently failed by the majority of the class even as he claims that everyone should find them easy.CS2800 2023-11-18 00:34:24 +0000 UTC
Stavros is a great guy. Attendance not mandatory, but easy quizzes given every class (half-credit given for the wrong answer, so it's worth showing up). Homeworks can be tedious but it's done in groups and office hours is helpful. Exams are much easier than homeworks. Stavros explains LEAN well, and makes expectations clear of what to know.CS2800 2021-12-16 23:57:02 +0000 UTC
Tripakis is a funny guy and you can tell that he cares about what he teaches. The class starts very easy, but goes from 0 to 100 sometime between the 1st and 2nd midterms. As long as you can do the homework you shouldn't stress. He's not the most understanding teacher, but he's definitely not a bad choice.CS2800 2021-12-12 19:21:53 +0000 UTC
Pollev quizzes each day, so you have to go to class. Stavros cares about his students and really wants everyone to understand - he's very kind and understanding. Lectures aren't super engaging, but he covers everything you need to know for hw/exams in detail. He's happy to have a review day instead of planned class material anytime if students askCS2800 2020-11-16 15:59:46 +0000 UTC
