Took her for Advanced Writing. The class was very easy, but felt like a complete waste of time. Professor Richard seemed quite lost when it came to her own syllabus and assignment deadlines, likely due to the fact she copied the syllabus from a past professor. Class should've been held remote, as most sessions were workshop style.ENGW3302 2025-04-10 17:39:45 +0000 UTC
Advanced Writing was super easy but she's not a good professor. She seemed confused about the material most times and the classes were all basically workshops, not actual lectures. Coming to class seemed pointless, but everyone comes because attendance is mandatory.ENGW3307 2025-04-10 17:35:11 +0000 UTC
She knows her stuff. Fun professor.ENG1111 2024-12-02 20:07:55 +0000 UTC
Overall, she is a rare, knowledgeable, caring English professor. As a stem major, I would recommend taking her class - you can take any writing risks - Argue with her about anything, it's fun lol (no penalties) - try not to use chatgpt. I used to use it all the time, but I became a dogshit tier writer because of it so yeahENGW1111 2024-12-02 20:05:45 +0000 UTC
easy class, you just have to sit there and participate in the discussion. Does not care about submitting things late. essay topics are very unclear and she wants you to write about what interests you.ENG1011 2011-11-10 17:23:57 +0000 UTC
Terrible. absolutely waste of money. zero learningENGW3302 2025-02-26 16:52:15 +0000 UTC
Prof Richards is the best! 3307 consists of not that many assignments and she honestly grades very fairly and gives a lot of time to build your papers/projects. Attendance is mandatory but she is lenient with 5 absences a semester.Overall if you put that effort in and are passionate about your work, she will see that and your grade will reflect it.ENGW3307 2025-04-10 13:43:41 +0000 UTC
Professor Richards runs her class more free form compared to other teachers that may have more structure to their classes. She likes to start random discussions that arent necessarily core to the class, but interesting and worthwhile nevertheless. As long as you do all the work on time and put in some effort, it should be an easy A.ENG1111 2024-03-11 16:05:43 +0000 UTC
Class structure is very loose which allows for more creative interpretation of prompts and stuff. Class time itself is 50% just Prof Richard talking about whatever. Very kind and easy to talk to, I liked discussing stuff with herENGW1111 2024-11-22 22:25:01 +0000 UTC
She is a bit all over the place, so if you're an organized person, she's hard to follow. Her rubrics aren't always very clear. Basically, if you can give a valid reason for why you did something, you can manage to get an A. And show up to class.ENGW3302 2016-09-12 15:51:30 +0000 UTC
There are a lot of assignments, but then again, its a writing class. The biggest issue I had was her vague instructions but strict grading and expects you to write exactly what she had in mind. Some of her post-grading feedback is good, but sometimes it seems she copies and pastes comments across students and is less personal to your work.ENGW3307 2020-07-21 20:00:52 +0000 UTC
Very nice!ENG1111 2023-10-12 19:17:54 +0000 UTC
Easy prof and very kind, do your work and you'll be fine. Lots of creative freedom tooENGW1111 2024-08-18 01:01:55 +0000 UTC
Very kind, funny, and personable teacher. You will get an A in this class. The lectures were interesting and she knows what she is talking about (though she does jump around a lot). Readings and discussions are very long. Grades are poorly explained, but if you go to office hours you will get an A on all papers.ENG1111 2022-04-27 21:32:59 +0000 UTC
Professor Richard had a very loose class structure which was very discussion and workshop heavy. As long as you completed the work, succeeding in the class was very doable. The topics that we wrote about were also very engaging.ENGW1111 2024-04-22 17:59:37 +0000 UTC
