Student reviews

I noticed her reviews were from Northeastern. She is now teaching at Umass Lowell and none of this is accurate. Avoid her classes like the plague. She races through lectures sometimes misreading her notes, is visibly annoyed at questions and also assigned 26 online homework questions that were due in the middle of finals week.MATH2210 2015-12-12 23:42:15 +0000 UTC
Makes calculus 3 harder than it should be. Otherwise test and quiz's arnt too hard if you study. Definitely not the best math professor. Take if you must, not recommendedCALC3 2014-04-10 21:43:32 +0000 UTC
Good lecturer but asking her questions isn't always helpful. I typically left class feeling confident only to find the online notes completely confused me or just didn't actually make grammatical or mathematical sense. She would often need to clarify and it nearly ruined the class.CALCB 2011-09-08 21:28:40 +0000 UTC
In calc for bio, she is extremely clear and explains the material simply and repetitively. She isn't great at explaining things in a different way if you are confused, but her examples always help you do the book problems, which are exactly like problems on the test. Not the most fun class, but you can pass no problem!MATH1251 2011-03-30 09:12:23 +0000 UTC
Thao has her good and bad moments. She reviews questions before quizzes only and never during class time. She didn't have set office hours so you need to make an appt if you want to see her. What sucks is that head of the dept. makes the final. So although you are used to her quizzes you get nervous about what he is going to put on the final.CALC1251 2010-12-09 17:07:29 +0000 UTC
As long as you do the hw problems assigned you'll be fine. The problem is that there's a lot of hw. She doesn't grade or collect the hw but the questions there are likely to be on the quiz. She explains well and doesn't try to complicate the math problems. If you go to class and take notes you should be fine.MATH1241 2010-04-10 13:28:12 +0000 UTC
Easy, but boring class. She's very proper. She wears that purple coat and those glasses. Well, just do homework problems and you'll be fine. And you'll hear her say "in colloquial terms..." or "so basically..." a lot.MTHU141 2008-07-12 18:03:35 +0000 UTC
Nice lady who cannot answer a single question. Every other word is "basically". Go to quiz review and write down the answers. Look over them right before the quiz and you will be all set. The quiz review is EXACTLY the same as each quiz and she drops the lowest 2. Boring teacher but easy class.MTHCALC 2008-04-10 12:31:23 +0000 UTC
boring, unhelpful, not a good teacher. fair grader, but has no interest in students and little apparent interest in teaching. if you know the material already, you'll be fine, otherwise it might be rough.MTH242 2008-01-05 17:47:13 +0000 UTC
Isn't the best at answering questions posed to her, but she does cover the material from the book. Study hard and you'll do well.MTH241 2007-11-16 15:40:05 +0000 UTC
its easy if u actually go to class or just go to the quiz reviews before the day of the quiz cause u can learn how to do the problems before the quiz. if u dont go to class, u wont do well.MATHCALC 2006-12-19 10:59:55 +0000 UTC
Anyone who has not had calc before will do terrible in her class. I did fine, but she was one of the worst teachers i have ever had.MTHU241 2006-04-05 16:13:34 +0000 UTC
The worst teacher ever! If you havent done calc you will fail her class, even if you had you wont do well. She takes lots of points for no reason. Try to catch up with her though she talks like a race car and wont stop until right before the class ends. And when you ask questions she will make you look stupid though she doesnt the answerMATH1251 2011-03-09 11:40:20 +0000 UTC
