Her lectures are extremely easy to understand and she checks in with the class to make sure they are keeping up before moving on. Dr. Hower explained concepts really well, and she was really passionate about the material and math overall. Problem sets were graded fairly. Dr. Hower is so sweet, passionate about math, and cares about her students' wellbeing and success. She uses class time well, and she's easily reachable outside of class. Office hours are a great resource. She teaches Calc 1 assuming that students haven't taken calculus before. I was shocked to hear that calc 2 was difficult but after taking her course which she teaches it really well whether in class or through her online lecture videos. If you have to take calc 1 and you aren't very confident in your math skills, take Dr. Hower's class. As previous reviewers have said, she has a youtube channel with all her lectures/pre quiz/exam/final videos available.
