soooo much writing and readingHIST1120 2025-12-17 09:17:26 +0000 UTC
took history of information, shes a great inspiring voice and obviously very smart. only thing is that her class is tough and dense, and sometimes it feels a little overwhelming, and that she doesn't reply back to emails super quick. other than that, she is a great teacher. super engaged with the work she does, witty and very funny tooHIST1357 2025-02-12 22:13:15 +0000 UTC
Definitely a "you get out of it what you put into it" class! There is a lot of reading (~150 pages/week) and writing (~500-1k words/week) for the class. Dr. Cain is super passionate and engaging when she lectures-- she clearly cares about her students. She gives great feedback on papers. Go to office hours for help if you're lost or behind!HIST1201 2022-12-26 17:57:09 +0000 UTC
The lectures were incredibly interesting and engaging. The readings were a bit long and there were papers and quizzes after each module (approx 1 per month) but it wasn't too bad.HIST2220 2022-01-25 19:15:24 +0000 UTC
Easily the best professor I've had at Northeastern. She's smart and engaging, and the lectures are incredibly interesting. The weekly readings and assignments are long, so you need to work hard to succeed, but you'll learn a ton. A lot of class participation, but she really gets to know her students and leads good discussions. Great TAs as wellHIST1190 2018-04-15 16:26:25 +0000 UTC
I took her graduate Museums and Exhibits course (not the course I marked), and it was certainly challenging, with a significant workload, but she is an engaging and supportive professor. She is excellent at teaching, assigns relevant readings, and asks for and implements feedback. Highly recommend!HIST1120 2024-12-03 21:54:11 +0000 UTC
Prof. Cain is awesome. Its a lot of work but she works just as hard. I learned more in 2 classes with her than almost all of my classes at northeastern. If you're a history major or minor definitely take her class. If you're any other major consider it as an elective. If you want to learn and work hard this class is worth it.HIST1357 2022-02-25 17:13:19 +0000 UTC
Amazing professor. One of the best, by far. She covers a lot of material but is fair in her grading and clear. She knows her history, wants you to learn, but you need to put in the work. Shout out to her TAs as well--always willing to help. Excellent class, interesting material, and fantastic professor.HIST1190 2018-04-13 17:37:15 +0000 UTC
I'm an engineering major and I was dreading having to take a history class to fulfill NUpath, but Professor Cain totally changed how I felt about the class. She was so engaging and her lectures were memorable. The reading can be quite heavy. Papers were kind of annoying each week but didn't take long to write(600 words).HIST1120 2019-12-27 07:14:39 +0000 UTC
Awesome lady. Loves her material and is very knowledgable and enthusiastic on it. She's engaging and captivating, encouraging class discussion which helps you retain material really well.HIST1190 2017-11-06 15:02:09 +0000 UTC
