I really enjoyed this class and thought Wolfgang was a decent teacher. I highly recommend reading the textbook and doing practice in it as I did that and I think thats why I thought the class was super easy while it seems like a lot of people thought it was hard. Would be nice if we learned a little about actually using a database in bigger pro.CS3200 2025-04-30 01:46:40 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Extremely intuitive to follow and everything in the course builds off of the intuition he lays out for you. If you want an easy A I highly recommend, if you want a harder course that you may learn more in take Mark Fontenot(something like that). Cutoff for an A was only a 73 so if you put in some effort it is yours.CS3200 2025-04-29 20:32:13 +0000 UTC
Fantastic professor. Lectures are very interesting and easy to follow. Not a lot of homework and course is capped with a group project which is fun but too simple and you don't gain a lot of knowledge from it. Tests are kind of hard but it's graded on a very heavy curve so it's easy to do well on them. People rating him low just didn't go to class.CS3200 2025-04-28 03:33:58 +0000 UTC
very unclear what final would even be one as he neglected to answer piazza in a timely manner for 3 day timespan before final. I am telling anyone reading this right now do not take this guy. I dont care if this is your only section take a different class. Do not take this guy. @Wolfgang 16 x 1.5 = 24 not like 33 or whatever that wasCS3200 2025-04-27 05:10:16 +0000 UTC
Actually awful and the worst experience I've had a northeastern. All my professors have been great but he by far is the worst of all and doesnt even compare to my worst before that. I would rather take a Graduate course than this BS. Lied about exam length, project grading rubic magically changes based on group size despite that never being stated.CS3200 2025-04-27 05:07:10 +0000 UTC
wow. bad idea.CS3200 2025-04-25 22:23:32 +0000 UTC
Power tripping professor, lies about exam length (claims final had 1.5x the questions, in reality had far more). You will suffer on the exams, which have a 60 range average. You will suffer in this course. AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.CS3200 2025-04-25 19:55:24 +0000 UTC
Just took the final exam. Bro said it would be 1.5x the length of the other exams (16 questions) and it was 38 (not 1.5x). Honestly just a really bad professsor overall and a lowlife you shouldn't take. Hope he losses his job nglCS3200 2025-04-25 19:50:11 +0000 UTC
This class was light work honestly yall just gotta get goodCS3200 2025-04-25 19:38:02 +0000 UTC
He is an incredibly difficult professor. You will get the subject matter beaten into you by the end of the year. Tests are 60% of your grade, and everything is on a curve, meaning you don't know your grade until the end of the year. Take only if it's your only hard class, I took it with OOD, my best test 23/41. If you have him, GL.CS3200 2025-04-25 01:54:49 +0000 UTC
AVOID AT ALL COSTS FOR THIS COURSE AND TAKE ANY OTHER PROF. Actually hated this guy and his gradingCS3200 2025-04-24 21:21:51 +0000 UTC
Overall, fine class. The other sections of databases are liked better and people learn way more(I've heard good things about someone named Mark) but Wolfgang is fine imo. Lectures are a bit slow and hard to follow unless you're a zombie but lecture slides are helpful. Tests are fine if you go to class. Not a fan of him reading slides during class.CS3200 2025-04-16 17:58:22 +0000 UTC
Undoubtedly a polarizing professor that may come off as just a harsh grader at first, but the truth is he wants his students to succeed by providing them with more content than other database lecture classes. Always available outside of class to answer lingering questions. VERY hard exams.CS3200 2025-04-10 17:11:50 +0000 UTC
2 midterms and 1 final exam 50% of your grade, ON PAPER, in 2025. Can't believe that there is AI taking jobs and we at Northeastern University are out here taking SQL and Database theory ON PAPER. Just a pure ego decision to make us take exams on paper. Please complain about this course and avoid until later on if you can in hopes of change.CS3200 2025-04-04 10:13:38 +0000 UTC
HE IS AMAZING! I give him 7/5. But rmf only gives max of 5/5 so the two extra point is overflow.CS3200 2025-04-03 16:33:45 +0000 UTC
