One of the best math professors to exist. Answers all questions and is very passionate about the subject and teaches in a way so that students understand the material very well. Pay attention in class however for she moves very fast.MATH1342 2024-06-21 00:32:51 +0000 UTC
She might be the best math teacher I have ever had in my life. Highly recommend taking her for calc II. She is super clear on everything and really helpful if you are ever confused on a topic. The quizzes are clear cut and she provides a lot of helpful resources to make sure you understand the material.MATH1342 2024-04-22 22:47:42 +0000 UTC
Pretty standard math class, but very good lectures and always sends out a copy of the lecture so attendance for lecture isn't really necessary. She is a great professor and is very good at stopping throughout the lecture to check and make sure everyone gets what she's saying. Could not recommend her moreMATH1342 2023-05-03 15:37:42 +0000 UTC
No option for the course I took w/ Prof Zhu which was 5101. Incredibly tough course but Prof Zhu explained everything extremely clearly. The clearest and best math professor I have ever had and its not even close.MATH1342 2022-09-20 19:25:38 +0000 UTC
Great professor, my only real grip with her is that her accent was initially hard to understand. However, as the semester progressed it got easier and easier. Overall, she will supply you with more than enough material to succeed, does a variety of in-class examples that are always help, and she is always willing to take questions.MATH1342 2022-02-23 22:38:17 +0000 UTC
Her lectures are clear and concise. She's very available outside of class, in office hours and through email. She's also a fair grader, so if you do a little bit of practice for the tests and weekly quizzes, you'll be fine. There are no trick questions on the quizzes or tests and they exactly mirror practice problems. The textbook is also free!MATH1342 2021-12-21 05:26:37 +0000 UTC
Fantastic professor. This woman deserves a raise. Notes and lectures were very well laid out. The amount of practice problems were perfect. I learned a lot and did well in the class.MATH1342 2021-12-18 19:46:46 +0000 UTC
Professor Zhu is great. She is always open to questions and a very fair grader. She lectures fast so I recommend looking at the notes beforehand. There are weekly quizzes, but they are easy if you do the sample problems she posts. Same goes for the midterm exams. Overall a great professor!MATH1342 2021-12-18 17:54:39 +0000 UTC
Professor Zhu does a really great job explaining concepts in class and providing numerous examples to make sure students understand it. She always stops for questions and does a good job answering them, both in class and in office hours. The quizzes are fairly easy if you simply pay attention in class and do a couple of the homework problems.MATH1342 2021-12-08 15:36:16 +0000 UTC
Her quizzes are fairly easy. The practice quizzes are basically the same thing and if you study those your golden. Sometimes she may be difficult to understand. The best thing about her class is that she gives numerous examples on the material in and out of class. I would say if you use the resources available the class should be light work.MATH1342 2021-11-23 05:20:59 +0000 UTC
There are weekly 3 question quizzes on the material of the previous week that are extremely fair and easy. There were also 2 hour-long midterms that were 6-7 questions. She gives lots of prep materials and the quizzes/ tests are all similar. She lectures fast so it is important to look over notes a day ahead.MATH1342 2021-11-20 18:49:01 +0000 UTC
I took her class through zoom lectures. The class was structured as 3 lectures a week, optional non-graded practice problems and a short 3 problem 'quiz'. During lectures she wouldn't answer a question unless > half of the class supported that question. She was /very/ strict about deadlines, grading was clear, tests were much harder than psets.MATH1342 2021-01-02 12:35:43 +0000 UTC
