Dr. Cheng is definitely not someone I would take the class with again. It was such a waste of time and money. I took the Fundamentals of Cloud Computing (CS 6620). Not actually related to cloud computing. Mostly virtualization with no hands-on. The professor has no experience at all. No Public Cloud hands-on. Even AWS or GCP or Azure. I took CS5010 on San Jose campus, fall 2022. His lecture pace is friendly for beginners to Java. Tom's style is distinctly different from my past professors. He don't use PPT, but code through all concepts he wish to illustrate and explains those with great clarity. His exam is heavy. It distingushish average from the best. Professor Tom Cheng does live coding in his lecture which is helpful, but on certain occasions he will jump around his codes too much which will leave you confused.
