Very good critiques, lots of iteration and work but for the better. Very funny and smart guy. If you take his crits seriously there is no doubt you will improve as a designer. During a critique, I was told my design ‘looks like pad/tampon packaging.' Basic proof of his mediocre background, lack of true knowledge, expertise in the field and of course teaching etiquette. Professor gives no structures to his classes, does not know how to read rooms, made ignorant transphobic remarks in class, did not give helpful feedback, does not respond to emails. You have to be very good with time management by yourself. All crit based, but he doesn't give good advice. Doesn't really enforce participation, my class was very small and people didn't really talk so i didn't get that much out of it. SO MUCH WORK. Class is entirely critique based. He is entertaining but often harsh with crit and doesn't actually advise you what to fix, just tells you what you did wrong. Expects an excessive amount of drafts per project which was burdensome for my workload.ARTG3460 2021-12-21 08:04:43 +0000 UTC
Prof teaches a very loose curriculum and our class had 3 main projects/deliverables. We'd often have a ton of work due with quite vague guidelines (purposefully so, to not hinder creativity as he said it). You have no indication of your grade until the very end, he says it is always subject to change. Funny and personable man, just make sure you're cool with foul language.
