Such a kind professor! I ran into him at Dunkin once lol- down to earth and explains really well. Attendance isn't required but go for the test hints and practice problems. It's well paced and he curves test grades! Yes the textbook is $90, but it was worth it even with my really bad attention span. Awesome professor, really nice willing to help anyone. The exams are really hard, but he curves very, very generously towards the end. My main piece of advice is GO TO HIS LECTURES!! Sharifkhani is the GOAT. Each class he provides a comprehensive powerpoint with practice problems, explanations, formula's, and rationale. He provides mock un-graded quizzes for each chapter, and is more than willing to answer any questions you might have. I loved the class! And I'm a peer tutor now for it and this is the best professor for fina2201 to ever take. Tests are easy if you study, heavy on trick questions though. Honestly, the way he explains concepts is so confusing. The concepts on his slide deck are over complicated and it takes several attempts of asking him to clarify for him to give a more clear and direct explanation. Professor Sharifkhani is a quality instructor who's knowledge is extremely comprehensive and rich. Ali is clear on expectations and what you need to do to succeed in this course. I loved Prof Sharifkhani!!! I chose finance concentration because of how much I liked the class. The tests can be challenging, but he curves them to 80%. His lectures were informative, I never once read the textbook and was totally fine. Loved him! The subject was extremely difficult but he wasn't. He would hold office hours the nights before exams, sets up 1:1 time, actually cares about his students. Dont have to show up, but if you do he gives you hints for the test. Most of us got 40s on the test but he scales and we all got 80s.
