Alma is an incredible professor! If you had her for ASL 1 I HIGHLY recommend taking her classes again. Alma was the best professor I have ever had! She would always take extra time to repeat something even if only one person didn't fully understand. The last day of class she went around and gave everyone hugs which made me start tearing up. I would 100% recommend taking Alma's class! Alma is a great professor! Her class is structured in a way you can fully immerse yourself in Deaf culture, and you have no other choice but to learn. Entire class is in ASL, pretty much understands you as well as you understand her...which is not so much. Sets extremely high standards for students, which are rarely met by anyone in the class. Alma is one of the best professors I have ever had. She has a great sense of humor and is an awesome professor. Do the work assigned and you should get an A, I recommend taking her because she really immerses you into learning the language, as she is Deaf and the whole class is taught in ASL. Alma is awesome! She is adorable, really funny, and really nice. She is a great example of Deaf culture and genuinely cares about her students.
