She is awesome! Tough grader but if you work hard you'll see results. She gave some pop quizzes but grades improved the more we took. Laurie is a super sweet professor, she wants to see her students succeed. Even though she's deaf she is still so funny and easy to understand. Professor Achin genuinely cares about her students, is very helpful and passionate about teaching students ASL. There are outside-of-class assignments (events) to be aware of, that deadline will sneak up on you. Very interactive class with lots of practice and daily (but helpful) HW assignments. Very, very unclear in how the points are distributed. I spent 6 hours on an assignment that she stressed as very important, only for it to be 15 points. Then I blew through another assignment in 10 minutes that was worth 95 points. This doesn't really matter though because it's very easy to get full marks.
