Professor Fotopoulos is the classic lecture in front of a bunch of kids. He's pretty engaging and condenses the material pretty well. He's also pretty funny with his greek accent and the way he explains things. If you do the homework you'll be fine for the quizzes and tests. They're by no means easy but he's a pretty easy grader in my experience.PHYS1151 2022-01-06 02:03:48 +0000 UTC
Professor Fotopoulos is a really nice guy and is very accessible outside of class. Tests and quizzes are pretty representative of class material, but if you are not particularly inclined to physics, I would not recommend learning entirely from lectures. Read chapter summaries before lecture and you will be fine.PHYS1155 2021-05-04 04:44:37 +0000 UTC
I found Fotopoulos' explanations of concepts to be a bit difficult to follow. For online class, he drew on an iPad, and both his drawings and his handwriting are a bit messy. But, all things considered, he's not bad. I think it would be challenging to have him as the primary physics professor for 1151, but he was okay for ILS.PHYS1153 2021-05-03 00:37:16 +0000 UTC
Lectures don't teach you much. If you took AP Physics in high school you'll probably be fine but if not you have to teach yourself most of the material outside of class.PHYS1151 2019-11-09 00:23:54 +0000 UTC
Angelos is pretty decent. He's a great person and funny with his Greek accent. Lectures are fairly good but he moves fast and some topics are hard to understand - definitely do the textbook reading and you'll be okay. Tests are hard and quizzes are MC numerical but they drop 2 which helps.PHYS1155 2021-04-21 15:34:24 +0000 UTC
Professor Fotopolous is your classic lecture in front of 200 people and gets out professor. His explanations are usually clear but time is very constraint. Be prepared to learn most of the material on your own by reading the textbook and doing practice problems. His tests are that hard especially compared to what a Physics 2 exam could be.PHYS1155 2021-03-17 17:27:07 +0000 UTC
