The exams are wayyy harder than the quizzes and in class assignments. Despite many students failing, she still refuses the curve the grades. She does not care if you fail. Made many students cry after final. DO NOT TAKE HER EVER!!!1155 2025-12-19 17:37:06 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Lectures may be a bit boring at times, but she is very clear on what you need to know for the quizzes. I took the honors section, and I barely studied outside of class because we did so many problems in class. Follow her lead, and you will get a great grade.1151 2025-11-12 21:44:47 +0000 UTC
She's an average lecturer; definitely wasn't as engaging as other professors I've had at the University. Had a hard time explaining some concepts, and got visibly flustered when asked to explain things in more detail; was lucky I had notes from other sections bc I was lost during certain parts of the course, and we moved very quickly (summer)1145 2025-11-06 02:29:28 +0000 UTC
Prof. Sarkar is always enthusiastic, approachable, has good humor. Covered all medical imaging modalities w perfect pace. Ensures everyone is on track with check-ins during lectures; willing to answer questions. Invited a guest lecturer (made lectures more diverse), and helped every student with preparing our research-presentations. All went great!4623 2025-09-26 00:22:00 +0000 UTC
Everything seems good until you take the exams. The exams are stupidly harder than weekly quizes or in class assignments or examples in lecture slides. Idk if this is her fault or the department but yea1155 2025-12-17 19:28:46 +0000 UTC
Professor Sarkar is an engaging professor who is always available for office hours. Taking the honors section for Physics 1 significantly reduced the amount of time I had to study outside of class because of how many problems were done in class. Student participation is rewarded. Would 100% take again.1151 2025-11-12 15:46:49 +0000 UTC
Her style of teaching isn't for everyone. Sometimes she made it more confusing than it needed to be for an easy topic. The class is fine if you do the homework and understand the material. Just study and do practice problems.1145 2025-09-03 01:21:14 +0000 UTC
She wasn't a great lecturer since she really only had one speed which made the content heavy slides impossible to read through completely and the easy slides super drawn out and boring. Nice lady though. My advice: skip the lectures and look at the slides instead.1155 2025-12-08 20:44:42 +0000 UTC
She takes questions well, responds timely to emails, and communicates well with the lab and the recitation (ILS). Good professor overall1151 2025-10-28 08:02:33 +0000 UTC
Tough class but great professor. Stay focused and you can do well. Here's my advice: complete every homework, but totally disregard the questions - focus on in-class examples and textbook problems instead. Reading the textbook helps a ton. Lock in for quizzes and the final exams will feel easy.1145 2025-07-04 23:47:47 +0000 UTC
Sarkar did a great job explaining the topics, even if the lectures were a bit dry and repetitive. She clearly explained what is needed on all the quizzes and exams in the class. Would take her again if I needed another physics course. She is very organized and communicates what is needed well.1155 2025-12-05 20:43:59 +0000 UTC
Professor was amazing. She used time effectively and lectures were easy to follow. I definitely recommend taking her Honors Physics 1 for Engineers course. The extra class time was 100% worth it and made concepts easier to understand with practice problems. The grading was always fair and she gives great studying resources.1151 2025-09-20 20:11:19 +0000 UTC
Honestly a very good professor for Physics, especially in the summer. She gives a ton of extra credit opportunities, and wants to see her students succeed. The exams are not that difficult, alongside the quizzes. Just study and make sure you fully understand the concept as the class is very fast paced.1145 2025-06-26 21:07:38 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Highly recommend having her if you did in 1151. Lectures may be boring, but as long as you pay attention in class, you will do great on the quizzes. Follow her lead, and you will do great, even though the class is slightly harder than 1151.1155 2025-11-12 21:47:11 +0000 UTC
Professor Sarkar is an engaging lecturer who is clearly passionate about physics. The honors section of the course is longer in terms of lecture time and there are a few extra assignments / questions on reports but it minimizes the time needed to study for quizzes. I'd recommend the honors section if you're ok spending a bit of extra time in class.1151 2025-04-14 19:50:14 +0000 UTC
