Like other reviews say, nice guy but get stuck in a bad group and it's a much tougher class- but you're not completely screwed. I was in a terrible group but because I participated in class and gave thoughtful contributions (basically the only one in class that did so) he gave me an A even though I flunked the finalINTB1202 2021-09-17 18:53:17 +0000 UTC
Let's begin with this, Nelson is a great person and is very caring if you reach out to him out of class. The class is 100% group projects and 1 final exam, if you are stuck with a bad group, good luck, you will not get a good grade. The final exam is almost impossible. He teaches for maybe 2 weeks and the rest are group projects. TOUGH GRADER!!!!INTB1209 2019-12-14 17:43:57 +0000 UTC
This is a group project heavy class if you get stuck with a bad group you're out of luck. Not much homework but the exam is extremely difficult and full of random information mentioned briefly in class or in presentations. There is extra credit options luckily. Nelson does not teach but depends on his students to lecture the class and you to listenINTB1203 2019-12-09 22:58:46 +0000 UTC
very bad. 80% of your grades are from group projects. Tough grader. The only C in my entire college life.BUSN1111 2017-07-21 14:17:13 +0000 UTC
ok seriously his quizzes are retarded, we have guest speakers coming each week and we're quizzed on stuff they said... so like, the only way to study for it is through urs and other ppl's notes which isnt a fair way to quiz pplBUSN111 2009-10-26 19:31:30 +0000 UTC
Lectures are incoherent. Even if you manage to stay awake and pay attention, you will gain absolutely nothing. He has no set grading rubric for anything which is very frustrating. Only positives from this class were the debates and the online discussions.MGTU301 2009-08-22 10:57:59 +0000 UTC
I thought the class was fairly easy, so long as you come every day. Online discussions were a great way to work from home and class discussions were usually pretty interesting. He tends to ramble frequently but overall is harmless. I recommend taking this class with him.MGT301 2009-08-22 08:23:27 +0000 UTC
If you want to learn ANYTHING in this class, you have to do it on your own through reading the textbook. Going to class is a pointless waste of time. He provided very little guidance on our final semester project. He's the kind of guy you can ask a simple question, and he'll manage to talk for 15 minutes without giving an actual answer.CBA101 2007-12-26 11:55:37 +0000 UTC
Intro to business- he did not teach us anything, the whole class is based on the final project and he really gave us no guidelines, but wound up with an A-. Hes a nice guy but not the most effective teacherBUS101 2007-12-22 11:32:57 +0000 UTC
He doesn't really teach much. Most of our classes are spent doing presentations or preparing for them. We did one project, which really helped to understand what a business is all about. The class was helpful, but Nelson didn't have much to do with that. He just gave us the grades. The class revolves around group work & presentations. Laid back.CBAU101 2006-11-17 00:06:25 +0000 UTC
This guy is soooo nice!! Go to every class n its automatically an extra 2% - keep any articles he hands out, presentations really good, class usually flies by - ill miss him!!!ETHICS 2006-04-19 22:46:25 +0000 UTC
This guy is really easy, but he is so annoying! He never taught us anything and the whole class was doing 3 group projects which means that every class=1 project so that is about 18 classes of presentations. 2 tests, doesnt clarify what to study but they were alright in the end. The articles he hands out seem irrelevant but KEEP for final projectLEGSOCETHISS 2005-12-29 16:37:36 +0000 UTC
Interesting class, professor it funny but random at times. No book, just gives random quizzes and large group projects that are pretty easy. Do the work, go to class, pay attention, easy A.BUSINESSETHICS 2005-07-10 12:06:12 +0000 UTC
do not take international business with him, it is absolutely impossible. if you're with a bad group, since the entire class is group projects, you are done for since he is such a harsh grader and expects you do know things he never taught (like ranking gdps of countries from highest to lowest on the final???). nice guy and he def means well thoughINTB1202 2020-05-02 00:00:24 +0000 UTC
Prof Nelson is a really nice guy but a hit/miss prof (bad lecturer, grading can be tough), I was lucky because he liked me. Go to his extra credit events, talk to him after class, if he knows you by name and you SHOW UP & PARTICIPATE, he will give you a good grade. Class is heavily based on group assignments (randomly assigned), and a final exam.INTB1209 2017-05-18 21:41:45 +0000 UTC
