Not the best, not the worst. Quizzes and group projects are easy but he spends an insane amount of time recapping 1151 (poorly at that imo) so you're stuck for at least an hour on your phone or something. Can occasionally be a little rude but he's okay besides those moments.PHYS1153 2025-04-07 16:54:37 +0000 UTC
He's very hard to understand. Will allow you to re-take quizzes that you missedPHYS1155 2022-12-12 19:26:40 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Clearly explains all material in the ILS. The lecture is almost always unintelligible, so it's good that he takes time to answer all questions. He will make time for you and answer all questions you have outside of class.PHYS1163 2014-04-11 09:30:30 +0000 UTC
Worst teacher I have ever had bar none.PHYS1156 2014-04-02 15:45:52 +0000 UTC
A mediocre professor with good intentions.PHYS1146 2010-04-04 13:18:23 +0000 UTC
useless teacher. he's a droner. he makes you have to figure everything out yourself. his notes are practically useless. and the book having no solutions manual is always a drawback, but i had more luck using it than his notes.PHYU155 2009-01-17 21:56:25 +0000 UTC
Horrible teacher... Class is a waste of time, reading the book is more helpful than going to class and listening to him... Doesn't explain anything, doesn't email you back, just a bad professor... Another example that a PhD doesn't make you a good professorPHY155 2008-02-12 00:16:12 +0000 UTC
Attending class was actually painful. He would write illegible notes on the board and then erase them and say we didnt need that or that it was just arbitrary anyway. If someone asked a question he would get defensive and fail to clarify anything. final was close to 3 hours, avg was a 53 or something. didn't learn much and hated every minute of it.PHY145 2008-01-28 00:09:50 +0000 UTC
Prof Daly is the worst professor I've had. He ends all his sentences with "you know" and is extremely unclear about what's on the quizzes. He just regurgitates what you learn in the lecture. Half his slideshow info is wrong, too. Just show up for the GAs and quizzes.PHYS1153 2021-01-15 05:19:01 +0000 UTC
Worst prof ever. His ILS lectures made no sense and half of the time he would get confused and contradict himself. Quizzes were not based on the actual physics lecture, just his ILS ramblings, so they were impossible to pass. Even the TA couldn't tell what he was saying, and if you asked Daly about the quiz, he couldn't do the questions himselfPHYS1155 2020-06-10 21:37:36 +0000 UTC
He is the MAN! He will explain anything you ask, and gives you good notes. He can relate and is approachable.PHYU155 2008-09-09 20:03:53 +0000 UTC
not really helpful... tells us to email him if we have any questions, but then doesn't email us back, and says that he didn't get our email. classes aren't very personal.. just him rambling on and on about how things cancel outPHY145 2007-12-03 10:58:14 +0000 UTC
I only have him for Physics 2 Interactive Learning Session, but he is a great teacher. I go to lecture, but it's usually incomprehensible, but not Prof Daly. He explains the topics conceptually and with very helpful examples, perfect for a more visual learner like me. He's the best person to learn physics from.PHYS1155 2009-10-24 03:13:08 +0000 UTC
