She's very vague with directions and after 1st semester when we all did "too well" she started to grade us 10x tougher 2nd semester. She also warned my group that our final project might not work days before the semester ended and expects us to do months worth of work in less than two weeks. Fun lady, can't teach. Class descrip. said no programming knowledge necessary, but she didn't give any lectures before throwing students into group projects (assigned groups; put people with no experience together intentionally- NOT HELPFUL). Great person, not so great as a teacher. Often got confused on her own practice problems and spent the whole class trying to understand. Grade was based on problem sets, take home quizzes, and a project, no exams. Problem sets were very different from class, but she was very accessible by email. Professor Pfluger is a chemical engineer first, professor second. She is knowledgeable in her discipline, especially sustainability. The course had no exams, rather had group projects to apply knowledge in real-world scenarios. She is a very nice lady. I personally never needed her help with the programming part but her lectures were not very in depth and I'm sure I would have been confused without previous experience. Professor Pfluger is a great person and knows her stuff. Sadly, her stuff does not include knowing how to teach or give instructions that are helpful.
