This is my second class I have taken with him, he's a pretty funny dude and also very good at lecturing, many lectures were spent on derivations which is dry however it does give you a better understating of the concept for when you are doing calculations. Hands down the funniest teacher I have ever had in my life!! He definitely encourages us to actually think about the class info. If you answer a question in class, be prepared for him to ask you more follow-up questions. The workload is a little bit extreme, but that's how engineering is sometimes. 100% would take him again. Burkey is a very nice guy, cares about his students, and has a great sense of humor. I didn't find his lectures all that helpful but they were entertaining at least. Really awesome teacher, great at explaining thermo concepts, total clarity in class, tons of enthusiasm, funny guy. He likes shirts with explatives on them, so wear them and he'll like you more. Tests are stern but fair. Awesome guy.CHME01 2010-11-03 10:50:46 +0000 UTC

Burkey is a talented teacher, and taking Thermo over the summer is no easy task. Extreme pace and homework problems taken from a graduate thermo book. But Burkey was always there to answer questions, and really wanted us to do well for the amount of effort he knew we were putting in. Best ChemE class so far.CHEU320 2006-12-02 20:59:59 +0000 UTC
