During my academic career I have never met a professor who exhibits more favoritism than Dan Sunderland. He consistently selects 4 plus students from his alma mater, Dickenson University, and gives them preferential treatment over others in the class. If you aren't one of his preferred students or did not attend Dickenson, you won't be graded fair.ACCT6223 2024-07-01 20:02:23 +0000 UTC
Best teacher at Northeastern. Patient with each student and wants everyone to succeed. Would absolutely take him again.ACCT2301 2024-06-12 15:50:17 +0000 UTC
The professor uses menti questions to gauge what the class knows anonymously. He discusses each option and explains why it may or may not apply to the question. The class is very conversational, but he does randomly pick people to explain their answer. Never says you're wrong; he just asks you to back up your answerACCT6223 2022-06-28 13:41:01 +0000 UTC
Amazing professor!ACCT2301 2024-05-16 16:44:31 +0000 UTC
he is a sweetheart! very helpful i love himACCT2301 2024-05-09 16:09:41 +0000 UTC
Prof. Sunderland explains lecture concepts very well, but the homework assignments and tests are extremely difficult. Even when you ask him questions about homework problems, he gets confused trying to explain. I would not take his class again because his tests were so difficult that it is hard to obtain a good grade in his class.ACCT2301 2023-08-05 22:38:38 +0000 UTC
Professor Sunderland is one of my favorite professors. He is extremely caring and makes it clear that he wants every student to succeed. He randomly calls on students, but I found this kept me engaged during class. His tests are online which was challenging for me because I prefer paper tests. If you can, take Prof Dan!ACCT2301 2022-12-17 17:19:35 +0000 UTC
It's very clear that Dan cares about each student and wants us to succeed. If you ask him to push back a deadline, he's usually very understanding about it. He does cold calls pretty often but he's always really nice and makes sure to explain when you are wrong. His tests are fairly hard but if you study a good amount then it shouldn't be too bad.ACCT2301 2022-12-14 05:16:33 +0000 UTC
Absolutely love Dan, he's a great guy. His teaching, however, is not the best. Lectures are not very helpful and you should be prepared to be called on at any moment. You learn basically everything from the textbook and tests are pretty hard. He wants everyone to succeed, and is always available outside of class, but that's easier said than done.ACCT2301 2021-05-06 03:11:10 +0000 UTC
I took this class during the pandemic, but he made the most out of this class through Zoom by using polling questions so there is some semblance of interaction when other classes makes me fall asleep due to 0 participation required. He picks on you to answer a question but I feel its necessary when taking online classes.ACCT2301 2021-04-30 21:48:57 +0000 UTC
I was anxious to take him as there were no reviews. I cannot express how happy I am not that I did. Send him an email; he will always answer. Ask him a question; he would answer and give a real-life example from his endless knowledge. I cannot stress how much I recommend taking himACCT2301 2021-04-22 23:55:50 +0000 UTC
Read the textbook and you will do well. That's practically 100% of accounting courses. Dan is a great professor would recommend him to every business studentACCT2301 2021-04-12 03:01:14 +0000 UTC
