Guided me through the language program to receive a BA with specialty in German, Spanish and Russian. This degree was in addition to a BS degree received in the same year. (94). Both degrees have served me well and the languages have given me a distinct advantage. Well worth the investment in time and tuition. Great professor this one.LNFU111 2021-06-09 20:57:50 +0000 UTC
He likes to go on tangents during his lectures about how little our generation knows. I'm sure you'll know what a vacuum tube is by the end of the semester (we got that lecture multiple times). Weekly blackboard posts are your grade, with two announced quizzes the whole semester (fairly easy quizzes but he doesn't ask what he put on the study guideCLTR1120 2018-04-05 09:21:06 +0000 UTC
Great professor. Really knowledgable and well-traveled. He reminds me of a cooler version of everyone's grandfather. Goes off topic ALL the time, but it's always fun. He his TA at the time--Professor Jarvis Chen--is super cute! I have no idea how he got a professor to be his assistant, but that must mean that Professor Robinson is highly regardedCULT101 2013-04-27 08:29:12 +0000 UTC

Loved this class. He goes off topic alllll the time, but the discussions are great. We spent one class talking about what it's like to be high because he's never been high and wanted to know.LMNU250 2009-05-10 23:44:52 +0000 UTC
Interesting guy, gets off topic ALL the time, but still cool discussions. Two tests based entirely on lectures, so go and take notes and you will be fine. If you mess up, he allows you to write a paper to replace your lowest grade. The only problem: we only studied French lit and he tells you what he thinks and doesn't let you finish sentences.LNM250 2009-04-15 12:26:20 +0000 UTC
Really interesting and funny man. If you get a chance take his class, he does go off on tangents but we always had really interesting conversations. If you like a structured class he might not be for you, doesn't follow the syllabus strictly and kind of figures it out as you go. Really nice and funny manLNMU250 2009-03-12 01:21:03 +0000 UTC
Very interesting class. Class is all discussions on random topics, many tangents, many interesting things discussed. reading in 3 books is the only work for the semester....read and come to class and the midterm and final will be easy and if you by chance mess up, easy paper to replace a gradeFRENCCULT 2008-12-23 09:37:35 +0000 UTC
nice guy and interesting class. shows some movies. midterm, final and paper, but he counts the best 2. reading is assigned, but only one book was the most important. good class!LNF150 2008-01-13 15:06:27 +0000 UTC
i like that he expresses his own views in class but encourages us to make up our own mind. His tangents are usually entertaining as well, even though I still dont understand why it mattered what type of car some guy from an old tv show drove...downsides are i kinda expected a more diverse pick of literature, it seems like all the novels are french.INT 2006-03-29 20:12:38 +0000 UTC
Awesome class, really interesting, really laid back, really easy exams, really interesting discussions, wish he taught more classes cause I would take them if he did, really knowledgable, funny, great class to take "just because"FRENCHCULTURE 2005-11-30 14:28:42 +0000 UTC
The novels were interesting but we spent too much time on them, I became bored very quickly.INTP 2005-05-04 22:59:13 +0000 UTC
Although we rarely followed the sylabus, this class was interesting. Mr. Robinson is really intelligent and welcome to new ideas from students. The book choices were great, however I feel that there could have been more of an intl collection. Most books were originally in FrenchINTLPER 2005-04-06 20:27:39 +0000 UTC
