She is the kindest woman I have ever met. She is genuinely perfect in every way.ITAL312 2025-03-26 17:15:43 +0000 UTC
I've had Gina for multiple levels of Italian at NEU. She is by far one of my favorite teachers! She is incredibly caring, flexible, and tailors work for the classes needs. The bad ratings from 2015 are wrong! She is not an impossibly tough grader as suggested. She allows late work and works with students if they are struggling or behind on work.ITAL301 2025-03-24 21:03:41 +0000 UTC
Gina is the sweetest professor ever. She is super understanding and gave me full credit for homework even when submitted over a month late. I don't get why she has such low reviews they all look like they're from a culture class in 2015. Would defiantly take again one of the best professors at northeastern.2101 2025-03-24 21:02:53 +0000 UTC
Sooooo sweet!ITALIAN 2024-09-18 20:53:57 +0000 UTC
While she can be a slightly tough grader, she is so overwhelmingly kind. As someone who hates history courses, the class was a bit boring, but I feel that she makes the lectures as engaging as possible. She is very personable and forgiving. I love her!CLTR1503 2023-02-27 17:16:24 +0000 UTC
LOTS of homework and assignments--can be very hard to keep up with but she also allows you to turn things in after the deadline. Very kind, can be a bit harsh with feedback but it comes from a good place. A great professor that you'll defiantly want to get to know. Come to Cafe Italiano for brownie points!!ITLN2102 2022-04-20 02:31:20 +0000 UTC
She's so great! I've never had a more understanding teacher. She's pretty lenient with turning things in late or re-doing assignments you didn't do well on and the quizzes are pretty easy. I recommend just buying the online textbook, you don't need the physical one for class. Lots of group work though. Take her class if you can :)ITLN1101 2021-12-13 05:45:38 +0000 UTC
Arrogant and selective in terms of who she assists. Please, do us all a favor and go back to your previous place of employment. You are not meant for teaching. Learn a little humility, learn to lecture effectively, and learn to be a human being. Northeastern must truly be hard up if this was the best they could do. Discombobulated course/teacher.ITAL1120 2018-03-13 09:10:17 +0000 UTC
Just don't take her.. her classes are by far the most boring classes and very hard to pass.2201 2015-08-21 17:13:10 +0000 UTC
Such a nice professor who really cares about the subject she is teaching. Although lectures can be long and sometimes a little dry, she provides powerpoints to help you. There were a lot of assignments, so make sure you stay on top of the work. Somewhat of a tough grader, but very eager to help. There are also opportunities for extra credit.ITALIANCULTURE 2014-12-01 23:02:00 +0000 UTC
This class is a lot of work. Unless it is ma requirement for your major or minor, or you are highly interested in this topic, I would not recommend it. It is very time consuming. She is a very nice professor who is willing to work with you, but expect to spend a good amount of time on this class.CULT150 2010-04-27 16:00:40 +0000 UTC
I most likely would not recommend this class. it was often boring and there was a lot of busy work, reading, and writing. on a positive note, she is a really nice teacher..you just have to devote a lot of time to the class.CULTR150 2009-12-04 10:57:03 +0000 UTC
Really enthusiastic about her work which made a dull class interesting. I went in thinking italian culture would be more about today's culture but it was mostly a rennaisance class. Tells you whats going to be on the test but sometimes the questions are too specific and confusing. homework got checked sometimes and then graded fully on others.ITA151 2008-07-27 23:43:11 +0000 UTC
Maiellaro has a genuine passion for the classes she teaches and she tries to make you have one too...Her lectures can be a bit drawn out sometimes but you are bound to learn a lot. Really easy midterm if you study at all and one paper on any aspect of Italy you want. Definitely worth taking her class!LNIU150 2008-04-02 16:59:26 +0000 UTC
