Jim is the epitome of a great professor. He strikes the perfect balance between having a laid back class but also still keeping students engaged. Jim is a great, great man and if you have a chance to take a class with him do it! If you take his recording class but don't know much about recording, definitely get the reading and educate yourself because it is easy to get lost, that's the only reason why the class can be difficult. Jim is the best professor i had at northeastern. He makes sure every single student knows exactly whats going on. he teaches at a slow pace, but teaches really thoroughly. this definitely annoyed some of the more advanced students in the class, but i went in knowing nothing about audio prod and left with a lot. Jim is a cool guy. Class is entertaining - he likes to joke around. Splits class into 2 sections of 8 people, 1 hr 45 minutes each section so he actually gets to know everyone in the class. Jim is awesome. Doesnt teach much, but its a good intro to industry because we did current events and watched documentaries. Easy midterm and final, just go to class and write the field visit paper and you will ace it with no problems at all.
