I took Prof Friar's online STRT 6220 class. Well, his name was on it, the TA's did all of the heavy lifting, I never met the man. Even when I emailed, the TAs were the go-between. He would briefly mention a topic, no required or recommended reading, then a major paper would be due on the subject, so be prepared for a lot of independent learning.STRT6220 2025-04-01 18:45:17 +0000 UTC
Prof. Friar is the best professor I have ever had. It is not only because he is a great professor but also his incredible personality. He always tries to build your confidence and have a lot of patience on you. He is warm, trustful, open-minded, charming, and wise.NA 2015-07-23 16:38:37 +0000 UTC
This guy is awesome! Very laid-back teaching style. He's the dean of the department and knows his stuff- really experienced. This was a fun class with minimal work. Take it, its a good class and he's a good guy.ENTR2201 2011-04-28 16:14:07 +0000 UTC
Best class / prof. in my college career. You will learn a lot from this man. He is not only brilliant but also a great teacher who is interested in his students. Grading is tough but reasonable. He does not give out A's. His lectures are not dry. They will hold your attention.ENTR01 2011-03-29 02:13:05 +0000 UTC
Grading is EXTREMELY subjective and throughout the class, he never gave anything more than a 88, no matter how hard you try and how much you ask him for help. Decent enough guy, but make sure you're on a sports team or else he will ignore you. I wouldn't recommend and will avoid in the future.ENT201 2009-04-28 21:58:53 +0000 UTC
classroom participation is 40% of the grade. one midterm and a series of smaller papers leading to one final paperENTU201 2008-11-11 14:12:44 +0000 UTC
He was one of the greatest professors I've ever had. If I hadn't transfered from NU, I would have tried to sign up for every class he taught.ENT101ORSO 2005-11-20 23:30:34 +0000 UTC
I had both Meyers and Friar. Meyers is the best teacher I've ever had. I found Friar to be a little more dry, but he is a hillarious guy!ENTU505 2005-09-04 11:42:56 +0000 UTC
This class was taught by both Meyers and Friar. Meyers was hands down the best teacher I've ever had, but Friar was good too. He is a lot smarter than he makes himself out to be, but you can't go wrong taking him.ENTU501 2005-04-27 10:54:26 +0000 UTC
Professor ignores his own rubrics and assignment rules and makes up grades on the spot depending on how much he liked you. Might as well throw a dart on a dartboard. If you put in a tiny bit of work you'll probably do fine, but you won't learn anything.ENTR1201 2024-10-13 17:02:52 +0000 UTC
Hands-down best class I've ever taken. If I would have taken this in the beginning of college i probably wouldn't still be here. seriously amazing class. (im an econ major)ENT201 2008-06-23 11:06:52 +0000 UTC
Professor Friar is a very easy going guy with a great sense of humor. I have the suspicion he is a rich man but does not come off that way, he is really down to earth. Knows the material very well and explains things very clearly. Not a lot of workload in this class and it is pretty interesting. I definitely recommend it Friar is awesome.ENTU201 2007-11-19 19:36:10 +0000 UTC
Dont even try, this guy was born a **** and always has been.I submitted my assignments a few days late and he didnt check it till the end of the semester and gave partial credit for not submitting on time.On top of that attendance is mandatory and participation being 30% of the total grade.Would absolutely not recommend.ENTR1201 2023-11-15 01:05:44 +0000 UTC
Nice guy but some of the lectures were boring and a little drawn out at times. There were some interesting speakers though. This class wont teach you how to get rich! but will teach you the different types of small business and the challenges you will faceENTU201 2005-04-13 16:53:27 +0000 UTC
