Great guy overall, but I'm not a big fan of his teaching style. He mainly lectures and uses the blackboard, which can be hard to read. The exams are very fair, you're allowed a one-page cheat sheet, and there's a generous curve. Honestly, Prof. Lowrey is fine. He's not the best teacher you'll have but he's not a tough grader. He gives lectures writing on the blackboards and using PowerPoint. The homework is easy, you essentially have unlimited attempts so it's a free grade. The tests can be more challenging but the curves are very generous (10 points). This class made me cry multiple times. You can't learn anything from his lectures because he goes so fast and his handwriting is illegible. He expects you to read the textbook and fully understand the lesson before attending, and then cold calls on you. Tests are extremely hard. Professor Lowrey's lectures weren't great. He often gets confused about what he's teaching us and the information isn't presented clearly. The tests are difficult, and I don't think the lectures even helped me do well on the tests. My advice would be to read the textbook and attend review sessions. Honestly a chill guy, definitely takes some time to adjust to his teaching though. He talks really fast and his handwriting is pretty bad. However he wants people to succeed and is invested in students who work hard in the class. The only reason I did well this semester is because I studied hard, went to review sessions, and attended class regularly. I can tell he has the potential to be a great teacher, but right now he is so unorganized and unengaging. For lectures, he writes on the board and mumbles to himself. He changes test content the day before and has review sessions at 9 pm the night before. He's a cool guy and very approachable. The class itself is very boring and he seems to also think that. Prof. Lowrey knows what he is teaching. He's extremely knowledgeable about the subject and very easygoing outside of class. The class will be textbook and lecture-heavy as he expects you to come prepared to class with some knowledge.
