Prof Weng is amazing! super kind and eager to teach (even at 8am!). However: required online textbook for HW/quiz costs $100+, need financial calculator (buy used!), homework takes FOREVER (spent 3.5hrs on ONE question), and he sometimes answers what he thinks you asked vs your actual question (likely language barrier). Funny energetic clear teacher, very understanding i had 93.98 / 100 overall at the end of the semester and he was kind enough to review my grade and bump it up to 94.12 for an A. He is the sweetest professor ever. Will go over the TA's grading and give you more points. Offers extra credit and says "I need an excuse to give you the points". He is always there if you have questions outside of class. Made a mock exam. I got an A- bc I did not pay attention in class so my test grades were eh. The cutest human being ever!! A very caring professor and only wants the best for his students. His lectures were boring at times, but at 8am he had a lot of energy and was passionate while teaching. Could not recommend Pr. Weng enough. Genuinely such a great professor who wants u to succeed. His teaching methods were effective. Quizzes were online, similar to the homeworks. Midterm 2 was giving by the coordinator, so more difficult. Overall, he gave us many resources and extra credit opportunities. Prof Weng was by far my best professor this semester. I even switched my major to accounting after taking his class. Despite having an 8 am with him, he was always energetic, always lenient with grades, and gave EC. The quizzes and tests were not challenging if you studied a reasonable amount and did your homework. my best professor this semester. he genuinely cares about his students grades, provides tons of practice questions, and his canvas is perfectly organized. syllabus is clear from day 1, drops lowest quiz and hw grades, curves if needed, and cheat sheets are allowed. quizzes were online in class. if it wasnt a 9:15 id go every time. Amazing professor who really wants his students to do well in the class. Had extra credit opportunities and curved quizzes when needed. He makes it clear what's going to be on the midterm and final and gives a lot of practice for both. Asks for feedback to make sure the timing for homeworks and the length of quizzes is doable. By far the best professor. He requires attendance, but even if he did not have this requirement, you should attend his every single class anyway, because accounting will be much easier if you listen to his class. He is great. I want to take his other classes. Attendance is required, but he offers 4 times of absences. However, I attended all, because ACCT1201 is a common class that offers the same course resources and requirements by all teachers and what makes a huge difference is his great teaching.
