Professor Skinnari is a phenomenal teacher! Lectures were laid out, willing to explain fundamental concepts (even math), always accessible, kind, and truly very inspirational.PHYS1161 2024-12-08 04:54:44 +0000 UTC
She explains the concepts well and makes them easy to understand but she rarely lectures. A lot of class time she gives you to complete practice problems but it is just wasted time spent waiting around for her to explain concepts. Homework doesn't relate to what you're doing in class. She just needs to change how she spends class time.PHYS1161 2024-04-24 22:49:19 +0000 UTC
A truly horrible professor. Goes through material fast and does not give through responses if you ask her a question. Terrible at teaching the material. Also there was no partial credit given for exams at all. If the answer entered does not match EXACTLY what she inputted on canvas (even if it is a rounding error), no credit will be given.PHYS1161 2024-04-18 03:41:06 +0000 UTC
She's does her best to explain everything but be distracted on your device once and you'll be behind. Goes fast with the examples but some are well connected to the quiz and homework. You only get one midterm and a final exam so study well cause you won't get a second chance until a year. Also be prepared to use Achieve if you're taking 1161.PHYS1161 2022-02-15 04:25:11 +0000 UTC
Even with background knowledge in physics, this course was kinda hard. Although she knows what she is talking about, I found the lectures to be boring and unproductive. Needs more examples and conceptual explanations. Homework due every week, weekly quiz, midterm, and final.PHYS1161 2021-12-11 22:30:38 +0000 UTC
She is very clear of how she runs the course and does not give many resources for studying for exams. Also, the textbook is not very clear. I found overall her lectures left me confused, but I don't have much prior physics background. Also, the quizzes are very challenging and even if small mistakes are made there is no partial credit given.PHYS1161 2021-12-07 18:14:40 +0000 UTC
She is a all-around solid professor. Sometimes, her lectures can get very slow and feel like they are dragging, especially on problems which you are able to figure out quickly but she wastes times going through slowly. The entire class is just weekly tests and homework, so if you already know physics, you really don't even need to show up.PHYS1161 2021-11-07 02:01:47 +0000 UTC
