he overcomplicates the material and isn't the best at explaining the topics or answering clarifying questions. he fell short in comparison to what i read about him in these reviews. also, he doesn't post your grades so there's no way to see/track your final grade.ACCT2301 2025-12-20 03:42:11 +0000 UTC
What a phenomenal professor. So thorough in his explanations, lectures and class problems (which allow for group interactions). Grades you on a qualitative and quantitative basis. If you show improvement he unofficially drops an exam. This guy is all about seeing you succeed. Really good person.ACCT3201 2020-11-19 21:22:24 +0000 UTC
Excellent professor. He filters out what you really need to know from your textbook readings and explains everything clearly. No surprises on tests or quizzes, he makes sure you're prepared. If you don't do well in his class, it's due to your own shortcomings and not putting the work in. Accounting is drab. He makes it great.ACCT6200 2012-11-13 10:14:49 +0000 UTC
Mario is a great guy! He knows his stuff, and makes it easy to learn. I recommend reading the book before hand, it will help you wrap your head around the material. Mario does not take himself too seriously, he likes to have a good time and understands that YOU are paying to be there. He grades on 2 Exams, 1 Quiz, & a final Project.ACCT6201 2010-02-02 11:56:23 +0000 UTC
Very strait forward. Brings much interest to class.ACCG200 2008-04-02 20:58:18 +0000 UTC
Great communicator. Makes accounting interesting. He also constantly seeks to guage whether the class is getting it. If he thinks we're not, then he'll repeat or explain again. Excellent!ACC200 2007-11-28 22:26:11 +0000 UTC
Nicest guy. Probably the best you will ever have at NU. Very dedicated and generally cool. The class moves fast and the material is challenging but at the end of the day- We love Mario!!!!!! Take this class and you too will learn all about "Accounting Parties."ACC200201 2006-02-20 20:02:53 +0000 UTC

He is a great person and cares about his students, but his teaching style didn't click for me for a reason i can't articulate - maybe because he oversimplifies/uses real life analogies so much that it over complicates the topic. not sure what the final was. truly wants to see students succeed and will work with you to get the best grade possibleACCT2301 2025-12-19 00:03:27 +0000 UTC
Love this guy. You can tell he really loves to teach. He turns a very dry and boring subject and makes in fun and understandable. He is a fair grader to boot. Take his class; you'll have a good time and come really learning about accounting.ACCG200 2008-03-26 13:04:33 +0000 UTC
Great Prof. Not too hard. Explains everything very well and very pleasant.ACC200 2007-09-11 10:31:06 +0000 UTC
Overall, I really enjoyed Professor Maletta. He means very well and wants you to succeed. I have never been good at accounting, but he made the content more manageable. He does this thing where if you don't do well on the first exam, he makes the weight less on your final grade. His final was very confusing and must have been a mistake.ACCT2301 2025-12-18 22:21:58 +0000 UTC

Good guy, but does not provide any grade transparency or feedback on assignments. I received my two midterm grades, but the other 60% of my grade I was given no feedback or comments or grades on it, which makes it really frustrating.ACCT2301 2025-12-16 21:58:42 +0000 UTC
