So sweet!! really cares about you and your grade. She responded over email outside of class really quickly and was really helpful. A lot of homework, but doing it on your own helps a lot with the test because the two are so similar. Examples during lecture help a lot and she always answers all questions very thoroughly.ACC255 2020-11-29 20:40:41 +0000 UTC
She's a great professor and you will definitely learn a lot in this class. The final is worth 30% of your grade but she does a very good job of preparing you for it. The only downside is that you need a 94 average to get an A.ACCT1201 2019-04-16 16:34:40 +0000 UTC
Professor McAllister is so nice. She makes an effort to accommodate students and help everyone do well on assessments. If you voice a concern, she will try to help you as much as possible. She posts study guides, puts hints on exams, and accepts anonymous suggestions for how to improve the class. McAllister is a prof who wants to see kids succeedACCT1209 2018-04-03 23:48:53 +0000 UTC

Fantastic professor. Taught me the basics of accounting and I felt like I actually learned something but also got a good grade. All assessments are curved up, so there's no reason to stress. Print and re-do the example packets she gives in class. This is the best way to prepare for her assessments.ACCT1201 2018-12-18 02:36:52 +0000 UTC

She is the best accounting professor! I don't like ACCT, but she is a really great professor that makes me feel ACCT seems not that bad. Every notes and examples in her class are useful for quiz and exams. If you can do well on the homework and her example packets, you can do well on the exam.ACCT1201 2018-11-07 21:05:55 +0000 UTC
Great professor--cares a lot about her students and always tries to improve based on feedback. Tests and quizzes are curved, and there is a two-part group project that's relatively easy. Lecture notes are always uploaded with plenty of example problems from class. Would absolutely take again.ACCT1201 2018-05-12 17:46:49 +0000 UTC
Tests can be a little difficult but she curves them by a lot so no need to worry. Two parts to a group project that are relatively easy. Great professor overall, a little fast during lectures so make sure to keep up w her but other than that, a very nice and approachable professor.ACCT1201 2018-04-17 23:15:51 +0000 UTC
Overall, she is a good professor. She always puts a heavy curve on the tests. She is always willing to meet outside of class and really wants her students to succeed.ACCT1201 2018-04-13 12:47:23 +0000 UTC
I love her. Not only is she a sweet woman, but she has extensive knowledge of the material AND knows how to teach effectively. She is very aware of her own performance and is willing to change and go the extra mile to ensure the success of her students. You need the textbook only for the Connect code for online homework.ACCT1201 2018-04-09 17:57:33 +0000 UTC
Amazing professor. She's a kind, genuine human being with a heart of gold. She brings donuts for the class sporadically because she's awesome. As a professor, she moves at a reasonable, maybe a tad bit slower, pace, but she explains everything well. Always available during office hours. She also curves each test/quiz by a lot. Great Professor!!ACCT1201 2018-04-09 09:43:03 +0000 UTC
Unhelpful grading, difficult quizzes and exams, and impossible McGraw-Hill CONNECT homework that costs $90 to use. She has disabled all the helpful functions on the website so you're stuck with 30-50% on all assignments. Her quizzes always must be curved because the class average is <60%. Worst class I've ever had at Northeastern. Do not take prof.ACCT1201 2018-02-25 22:59:01 +0000 UTC
She lectures for the entire class with the exact same, repetitive class structure every time. Whenever she puts students to work during class, she is unable to answer questions that students have. She's overwhelmed by how confused her students are. If she gets around to you, she offers vague answers that make the material even more confusing.ACCT1201 2018-01-29 15:48:42 +0000 UTC
Mcallister is a great professor. Comprehensive lectures and does a lot of example problems in class that are really helpful. She's a cool person and pretty flexible when it comes to things like helping with homework. She tries to make the course as interesting as she can.ACCT1201 2017-12-01 09:22:39 +0000 UTC
