NO FEEDBACK! If you are not required to take his class, then avoid it like the plague. I had 3 different classes that I had to take with him. Got a B in all three with no feedback for any assignments. Just random grading with no reasoning.ACCT6230 2020-02-12 19:52:27 +0000 UTC
Absolutely zero meaningful instruction. Did not respond promptly or thoroughly to email questions. Made it feel like he was doing me a favor by responding to questions. Tested on topics not ever covered in the coursework. Very disappointed in Dr. Franklin. Avoid at all costs.ACCT6265 2016-05-02 18:31:38 +0000 UTC
I had Dr. Franklin in two online courses as part of the online MST program at NEU. Dr. Franklin puts absolutely no effort into putting together materials or structuring the class in a manner conducive for students to learn. I found zero value in his administration of the course and would not recommend taking him if other options are available.62306265 2015-09-30 02:18:56 +0000 UTC
Does not give feedback on graded assignments, you must ask and maybe you'll receive. In my opinion, against giving A's. Just expect to teach yourself and put in a lot more time than the syllabus calls for.ACC 2015-07-05 20:30:49 +0000 UTC
There is good takeaway from this class. However, future students should know that Prof. Franklin uses his tests as weapons to lower grades. A substantial part of the material tested was not in the class material or in the textbook. This tactic is not appropriate in a graduate level class. I would not recommend any of Prof. Franklin's classes.ACCT 2013-07-30 22:56:11 +0000 UTC
Very good class overall, and very engaging professor. Did work very hard. Took more away from this class than any other course in the program. Exams were difficult, but were open book, open note, and outside research. The grades are scaled fairly at the end of course. Class is highly recommended, if you are willing to work very hard and learn.ACCT6249 2013-07-22 21:22:30 +0000 UTC
Do yourself a favor and don't take a class with this clown. Tests don't reflect material. Big ego.TAX 2013-07-03 18:46:36 +0000 UTC
Frustrating that this is the first professor i had in the online program. He's evasive and doesn't give clear answers. I don't think he has ever actually practiced in the real world. He thinks there is only one answer and is very hard to talk with if you do not agree with his answer. Questions to clarify surrounding facts are not answered.ACCT6230 2016-05-30 21:41:55 +0000 UTC
I agree that there was good takeaway. I do believe that Professor Franklin uses his tests to intentionally lower grades. A substantial portion of the material tested was not covered in either the class material or in the textbook. This tactic is not appropriate for a graduate level course. Future students should beware that hard work = B or less.ACCT 2013-07-30 22:50:51 +0000 UTC
Hard class. Expected to work hard, but Dr. Franklin is very supportive if you reach out to him. Exams are difficult as other posts state. After the exam, he spent two hours on the phone with me and walked through every single question on the exam until I understood everything. Very high expectations and demanding work load, but good class.ACCT6230 2013-07-23 18:56:34 +0000 UTC
