Professor Steere often gives unclear instructions for his assignments and goes off of what the assigned rubric actually says. His feedback is vague, and yet he still expects you to know exactly what was wrong with your assignments. One of my worst experience by far. Bob has proved that he is not a careful listener and doesn't engage well with students. On multiple occasions he has mentioned something to me and the next time I bring it up, he denies having said it; or he won't say something, and then later insist he did. Had ORGB with professor Steere. His demeanor can be a bit offputting since he's a bit serious but the discussion and course material was actually very interesting to me. If you want to succeed in his class, don't be late, be respectful and actually participate. Prof Steere's class is very straightforward. He will tell you everything you need to succeed in the syllabus. There are pop quizzes on readings so you must keep up, a big presentation, and 2 papers. Steere's Leadership Seminar was an excellent senior course. Through case studies and in-class discussions, Prof. Steere shows the many different aspects of leadership. Decent professor, however, I would not recommend taking this class online with Professor Steere. His instructions are highly ambiguous and can be interpreted in multiple ways. I had the unfortunate experience of being in a class taught by Steere who displayed a shocking level of rudeness and a complete lack of concern for his students. It was clear that he had an infatuation with attempting to fail students rather than fostering a positive learning environment. I LOVE Professor Steere. Although he may seem like a tough professor, he really cares about each of his students. Completely inaccessible by email so if you take class online good luck. In life you will encounter professors who are seemingly rude for the fun of it and that is this guy. Don't listen to these other bad reviews! I have no idea why he even has any. Professor Steere was one of the best profs I've had at NEU. He is well versed in the subject and gives great feedback. If you don't show up, you wont pass. Professor Steere is an inspiring professor if you show up to class ready to engage and participate. The attitude and effort he expects towards learning and engagement is on a college level.
