Lee is the first art teach to really help me create something, she will meet anyone at any level and give feedback in ways that match them, the assignments were very manageable and each one taught me something about my drawing abilities while working on themARTF1220 2025-12-16 02:29:56 +0000 UTC
As a summer course this was fast paced. However, assignments were organized well and built upon each other. I came into this class with an art background, but if I didn't it probably would have been difficult. I really appreciate all the feedback Prof Lee gave me, and I learned a lot of valuable skills in this class. Overall really enjoyed it!!ARTF1122 2024-06-28 23:16:39 +0000 UTC
Very easy course. Teaching isn't great, harsh grader on small things, and harsh critiques on students who didn't do art before. Understanding the attendance policy, not my kind of personality. Fairly tedious and annoying work and personality to deal with for a 2-credit course.ARTF1220 2025-12-13 00:09:18 +0000 UTC
Overall nice prof, but has high expectations, beginners will struggle. Tough grader, rarely got 100s on hw even tho I am experienced in art bc she will take off for tiny things. Lots of textbook reading and annoying quizzes where I spent more time memorizing than comprehending/learning. Can be passive aggressive if you are disrespectful/do not try.ARTF1122 2024-05-29 00:24:37 +0000 UTC
Got an injury during her class, and she was pretty understanding. Make sure you show up for the demo though and thats basically it. Class just consists of demo then work time. She is tough grader and takes off points off for tiny things. Im new to drawing and painting, but am doing fine so far. She is strict about written stuff tho so be carefulARTF1220 2025-10-23 17:08:27 +0000 UTC
Coming from an artistic background, I succeeded in class and the instructor was able to support my goals. However, I think as a total beginner this class would be isolating. I appreciated how she tried to build connections with students and give feedback, but also found her teaching to come off slightly passive aggressive/ condescending at times.ARTF1122 2024-05-03 05:19:54 +0000 UTC
I enjoyed this class and liked her as a teacher. At first, she can seem intimidating, but she is actually nice. She gives good feedback but grades harshly.ARTF1220 2025-03-25 16:21:57 +0000 UTC
She clearly knows her stuff but she does not care if you are a beginner or not and will not hesitate to grade you on the same level as if you've been drawing since you exited the womb. All assignments are extremely time consuming -- I ended up passing but not worth the stress -- I'd try another prof to be safe.ARTF1122 2024-04-30 17:50:22 +0000 UTC
this professor was absolutely terrible! on the first day she got mad at a student for asking what we should refer to her as (professor, sally, ms. Lee). this is a beginner art class that she made needlessly complicated with WRITTEN EXAMS about psychology principles! if you're looking for an easy 2-credit course, i would steer clear of this prof!!ARTF1220 2025-03-14 20:49:55 +0000 UTC
Very condescending. Asks students to participate but when a student does say something that isn't correct she rudely shuts them down. Tough grader and the WORST instructions. Instructions are often just phrases. The content of this class is not helpful or cohesive so overall, this class isn't a good introductory class.ARTF1122 2024-04-12 02:15:01 +0000 UTC
Her grading and attendance policy are fair and clear. Sometimes I felt like she kinda hated everyone, but she's just chill. Her feedback is good but the class projects felt repetitive.ARTF1220 2025-02-26 17:17:46 +0000 UTC
Pretty much passive-aggressive to students, "if you don't participate we'll be here longer" ..... gives minimal detail in instructions on assignments and then takes off points for the smallest things despite saying that acknowledges the fact that this is an introductory course and that not everyone is a professional artist.ARTF1122 2024-02-24 17:01:50 +0000 UTC
Felt like we moved through the class on our own, as class time was for studio work, and we would watch lectures online. Hard to get feedback. Make sure you follow directions to the point.ARTF1122 2022-12-06 20:35:12 +0000 UTC
