She's a very accommodating professor who's generally open to whatever you need, as long as you can explain your reasoning. The assignments are flexible, you can miss class or arrive late if you communicate with her. She's extremely understanding and creates a comfortable classroom atmosphere where you can work at your own pace, listen to music.ARTF1120 2026-02-25 17:40:29 +0000 UTC
I did great in her class but she is the kind to tell you what is wrong with your artwork in front of everyone. I was doing a presentation and made me stop because of something I said was "wrong" and proceeded to tell the entire class why what I said was wrong, basically called me stupid and that I didn't know what I was talking about while laughingARTF1122 2025-12-12 05:10:22 +0000 UTC
very kind, easy class, can draw or paint anything if you have a clear enough profession of your work or enough reasoning, very process oriented.ARTF1102 2025-11-27 23:13:42 +0000 UTC
A specific interaction in class involved comments that emphasized personal differences in a way that felt isolating and inappropriate.ARTF0 2024-09-14 16:56:14 +0000 UTC
Great prof, passionate about art, good critiques. Fair grader, but you've got to work a lot! I highly recommend her.DRAW2 2010-01-14 22:11:36 +0000 UTC
Ainslie is very knowledgeable and helpful. Critique can be harsh sometimes, but you really learn a lot. It's really hard to get an A on pieces, but not impossible.ARTU102 2009-03-27 20:08:23 +0000 UTC
Though art is subjective, yes, this teacher always didn't like my work--even the class came to notice that she just picked on me. I was very upset due to the large amount of bias that she took out on me as an individual. She gives you the chance to re-do your work--but she'd just give me the same grade after I did the extra work. DO YOUR HOMEWORKVIS1 2007-04-05 02:25:19 +0000 UTC
What a great professor! Even though class was at 8AM it was so interesting that I didn't mind. I learned a lot and my drawing definitely improved. Ainslie is fun and supportive!BASICDRAW 2006-12-07 13:04:14 +0000 UTC

They probably don?t have this class anymore. But she was an awesome teacher when I had her 3 years ago; she gave us a lot of freedom to explore and gave us great feedback on our work.INNERARTS 2005-08-31 09:39:02 +0000 UTC
her class was very simple and shes a nice teacher. just make sure that if you do sumthing not her way, to do it well.BASDRAW 2004-03-24 11:00:01 +0000 UTC
Inconsistent in her grading. If you have her, make sure you concentrate on tone with extreme darks and lights. I'm not a good drawer but I pulled off an A in the class because of tone.DRAWING 2004-01-03 16:02:06 +0000 UTC
Very sweet professor, is usually okay with anything you do as long as you have a good enough reason. Assignments are flexible and you can skip class or come in late of you just tell her why. Very understanding and good class environment - you can have music on while you work, go at your own pace, etc.ARTF1120 2026-02-25 17:38:09 +0000 UTC
Pretty rude, talked down to me because I couldn't draw certain styles. Very unclear of what we are doing in class that day and grading scale is wack.ARTF1122 2025-09-03 22:41:16 +0000 UTC
